I spent few days of my stay in Mexico at the Barrio Latino. I found it a great deal: very well located, clean, safe and unexpensive. Young peop`le manage the hotel offering good tips at the desk. I got free calls to Usa, Canada and Europe, a good breakfast, a room I want to copy back home. I will be back.

Top Local Tips for Playa Del Carmen

visit calle 4 if you want to visit a mexican zone - not a very hip one, i am suggesting the one with very clean restaurants and small shops - visit calle 4 between the beach and the avenue 30

How to get from Cancun AIrport to Playa Catch a bus from ADO at the airport (https://www.ticketbus.com.mx/ticketbus/inicio.jsp for tickets). It will drop you off in the main street of Playa. This is cheap, safe and reliable. Just as easy as going to Cancun. The return is the same.

off the beaten path Get up early in the morning and walk on the beach, visit the Playacar Aviary, rent a bike on calle 8 and 10th Avenue and visit the Archeological spots along Playacar.
