You Get What You Pay For

$25/night....you can't expect too much, but I expected more than I got. The rooms are very loud and in need of some basic repairs. I had roaches in my first room under the mattress. I got the manager and he sprayed insecticide and moved me the next day. Noise from the TV in the courtyard comes in from one window and noise from a local disco came in the other. Thankfully, I had ear plugs and Ambien, or I would never have slept. Room was reasonably clean, but the shower was incredibly basic with no shower curtain, so the whole bathroom floor was wet. When I return to Oaxaca, I'll fork out a few more $'s and stay in a nicer place...there are plenty of them around in this beautiful city.

Cozy & cute!

I stayed here two summers ago and absolutely loved it. We decided to switch hostals after a not so enjoyable stay at Paulina Hostel. The rooftop terrace, clean and cozy rooms, plaza nearby, and the amazing coffee at the downstairs cafe made us leave Oaxaca extemely reluctantly!

A perfect spot to land for a stay in Oaxaca.

I've stayed in several of the rooms on different visits to Oaxaca. They are clean and comfortable if not luxurious (if you want luxury and 150 dollar rooms, go around the corner to the Camino Real). What I like best about the place is it is small and it has a great location at the back of a little Plaza in the best part of town. There is a great cafe at the entrance and little shops in the plaza and everyone is friendly around the plaza, so it is like a little community.
