This small family-operated hotel is located about six miles from Oaxaca city. Rooms are simple but clean and spacious. (Compare to summer-camp quality construction, not like any hotel you've stayed in in the US.) Rooms have no heating or air conditioning, but they are not needed. Windows have no screens, which would be a nice addition for those of us who don't like flying insects in the room. The atmosphere is rural (quiet except for animal noises) and relaxing. The proprietors live on site and are very sweet people. (Their big dog is sweet too.) The on-site restaurant provides good tradtional food at reasonable prices. Rates are reasonable. Taxi rides to town are about $10 US, but the bus is only about 40 cents and is convenient if you're not in a hurry. As elsewhere in Mexico, do not drink the water! Purchase bottled water for personal use before you get to the hotel!
