Top Local Tips for Nuevo Vallarta

Timeshare sharks at the airport When you're at the airport, after getting your luggage and clearing customs, do not make eye contact with any of the people yelling for you to stop or asking you where you are staying! Just walk directly out the doors to where the taxis are waiting. Once you're out the door (only a minute or 2 walk) you will be set. The taxi drivers will take your luggage and you'll be on your way! This was a tip we got from someone and it worked well for us. The white taxis will be about $15 USD, you can also walk over the catwalk and catch a bus or yellow taxi for less.

Golf Course The golf course is a real great deal. It is a good test of golf, and is very resonable on the pocket book.The mandatory caddies are lots of fun, and really know their yardages. The rentals are expensive, so I suggest that if you are going to play more than once, take your clubs.

Snorkeling Be careful if you are not a strong swimmer. Check where you are going before booking. Three of us went snorkeling and are seasoned snorkelers. Even the most athletic and fit, my daughter-in-law, who is a strong swimmer, said that trying to get back to the boat, which anchored near cliffs, was difficult for her. I had to alert one of the guides to throw me a line and tow me back. Fortunately, there was plenty of help to keep an eye on all of us. I did, however, see a Blue-Footed Booby, which made the trip worthwhile. Drinks, snacks, and sun were a plus.
