Top Local Tips for Mulege
RAY'S By far, the best dining experience we had in a week of eating out in Mulege was RAY'S PLACE on the (very) outskirts of town. After getting a high recommendation from a local we set out one evening after dark in our rental car to find the place. All I can tell you is - if you think you've driven to the end of the world - you're almost there! Go just north of town on Hwy. 1, basically to the Mulege city limits, then turn back around and look for RAY'S "billboard" on your right and KEEP FOLLOWING THE SIGNS! (You'll feel like you're in a Burma-Shave marathon - Baja dirt roads arent for sissies.) Don't give up. RAY'S is all lit up at night; a beach bungalow in the middle of an alfalfa field. Ray is a big Cuban-American guy with a great smile who treats everyone like a long lost relative. The place is immaculate, thoughtfully decorated and has a "far away" romantic feel. And the food! From Oysters Rockefeller to organic salads to Kaluha brulee - amazing! You won't be disappointed.
