Top Local Tips for Mexico City

Mexico City, Mexico experience Mexico is a very good business and tourism destination. Mexico City is a fascinating place to visit with lots of attractions, restaurants, and place to explore. Do not loose the opportunity to visit this great city. Remember, Mexico City is a very large, highly populated city. Just practice common security and safety measures like in any large city and you will be fine.

Take the Turibus! If you were like me and only had one day to see Mexico City, I highly recommend taking the Turibus. Most major cities have something like this--for a daily flat fee you can take the tour of the city and get off at different parts if you want afterwards, catch the next bus and continue with the tour. The stop was right across from the hotel and was convenient and easy to do. Your fee allows you to take the bus for the day and speakerphones for the recorded tour guide that highlights items of interest during the ride. If you have more time, you also have the option to buy a 2 or 3 day pass--the only catch: you have to use this on consecutive days. The recordings are in English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese and British English. This is a really good way to see the city and perhaps cheaper and safer than taking a cab. If you don't get off and do the complete circuit the whole tour takes approximately 3 hours. Also, it's a little bit more expensive on the weekends.

Find an Irish Bar But don't be too taken in by friendly locals. Some will befriend you until the early hours then arrange for you to be robbed by less friendly looking Mexicans. I narrowly avoided learning the hard way.
