We enjoyed our stay very much. The housekeeping staff quickly brought a softer topping for our mattress. Shoes left behind were quickly found. We booked our tours successfully and efficiently through the hotel. We left our luggage safely when we took a side trip for a few days. The taxi's outside the Hotel were safe and reasonable. Thank you for allowing us to bring up fond memorises of our stay in Mexico City.

Top Local Tips for Mexico City

Circuito Piramides BUS The same folk that have the hop on and off tourist buses run a daily trip to Teotichuacan.....the Bus picks up in the traffic circle at the Angel monument on Reforma near the Tourist Information booth. The bus was comfortable with a bathroom, informational videos on board, a great guide at the site who included the musuem....and it didn't go to the Shrine of Our Lady Of Guadelupe butdid include a decent buffet late lunch prior to return. It was cheaper than what the concierge at the hotel was offering.

The Metro The Metro is a great way to get around the city for very little money (2 pesos or 20 US cents per trip). However, when making connections between the lines it could be a long walk to get to the next line. So it's not exactly the fastest way to get there but if you want to avoid the danger and costs of at taxi it's a great option.

Mexico City Metro - Use It! As a New Yorker, I was completely blown away by the Mexico City subway system. It was spotless, efficient, cheap (about 20 cents per ticket) and trains arrived every minute or so. It also goes everywhere you need to. Don't worry about crime--just keep an eye on your things and try not to look totally lost. But all in all people on the trains are quiet and keep to themselves, but it does get VERY crowded at rush hours.
