Casa de Frida Don't miss the chile relleno

Getting around Merida There are "no" taxis in this large city! What a surprise. I waited--many times--20 to 30 mins. to hail a taxi on the street. This is unheard of in any other city of size in Mexico. So get used to walking a lot, and be aware that the blocks in Merida are very long. So if a place is "only" six "blocks" away, it will seem like 12 by the time you get there (the locals are used to that, so they never mention it).
