I LOVED EVERYTHING except that one restaurant in the hotel, it was so nasty! And we even went to eat there twice, both of those days were nasty!

Our reserved accomodations were unavailable until we persistently hounded staff.
The second bedroom in our suite had a thin chaise type pad over a stationary single size concrete bench. There were two of these "beds" in the room. Very comfortable. Not!
The remaining amenities, bath, kitchenette, t.v. balcony, pool,laundry etc. were decent. Overall service was excellent especially in the restaurant which offered a variety of tasty food reasonably priced. Travel to town by Pulmonia was thrilling as an "E" ticket ride!
It's worth a return trip now knowing where to go and what to see.

The place is decent, always being cleaned. It is a bit out of town, North of the Gold Zone past the new El Cid Marina. It's impossible to walk to town from this resort.
TAKE the bus into town its 80 cents per person compared to 8 dollars per cab. Avoid the time share presentations like the plague ... unless you are interested, then get at least $150us money out of the guy (or girl 'practicing' her English) setting your appointment ... DO NOT settle for a free breakfast.

Top Local Tips for Mazatlan
Only for the Adventuress See the 2 story market in the old part of town near the cathedral. Bus drops off on one side of the block and picks up on the other side. Not for people with a weak stomache, but can bargain and get foods for kitchen/snacks at reasonable prices. Best deal was ice cream cone for <> $0.50 US. I got a pair of hurache style sandal pretty reasonably. I settled for 3/4 of asking price = $15.
For a 5 star dinining experience Try Sr. Peppers for a very special occassion. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food and serice top drawer. Only negative would be that it is on the expensive side. They will split orders and we split a 16 ounce steak that was to die for. The deserts very special.

A stairs to an elevator makes no sense
B The wrist band was a turn off They make you wear a wrist band...
C The staff made no effort to accommodate my request for sporing equipment and difficulty with the stairs + Security after a week still did not recognize us & we almost always had to wait to get threw the gate.
D The room was small and was a terrible trade for our time share. Poor maintenance in rooms The beds in the extra rooms are foam over cement very small for a 6ft guy.
E One of the staff tried to sell me a time share. I could keep going on. I would not recommend this to anyone. You can do way better for your money in Mazatlan.
