Top Local Tips for Mazatlan

take public transport to go out to next door towns (1-2 hours away) buying a package trip is pricey- usually 30-35 usd per person (concordia and/or copala) including lunch- we took the bus to concordia and had lunch at the best restaurant there (i guess there is only one anyway) my wife and i spent only a total of 35 usd and we took our time walking around town - no rush. the tough part is getting the info on how to get there. hotel is not very helpful - they want you to buy the package trip. we got the info by asking around - staff at mcdonalds or at restaurants - although they would try to tell you go to a travel agent - if you tell them you want to explore on your own they would be happy to give you the info. travel by care is recommended by most tourist magazines - but they should include the option to use public transpo.

Go To Canucks! Americans and Canadians fill the Canucks club located by The Shrimp Bucket in Olsd Mazatlan. There is live music there Mondays, Wednessdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The club owners are Phil and Terry from Winnipeg, Manitoba. A good time is had by all there! Great food, cute cabana boys, and awesome margaritas! Say Hi to Phil and Terry and tell them Shelley who was their singer there in January sent you! Best thing for supper are the coconut shrimp! Tip the boys well! They treat women like royalty! Phil plays Mondays, Wednessdays, Fridays and Saturdays. He's one bada... keyboard player and singer!!!

bring your walking shoes Everyday we walked the beach which can be miles if you want, stop for breakfast, stop for lunch or just a cervsea or two,. Local Transit is easy and affordable to get downtown, we hiked up to the lighthouse, did lots of walking downtown Old Mazatlan as well within the Golden Zone, took a city tour, and a Country Tour, Concordia, to Copala which was excellent through Ole Tours. Enjoyed the Mexican Fiesta at Playa Mazatlan food was typical, a Meican buffet
