Place was clean, beds were hard, front desk staff snotty, restaurant staff friendly, beach full of vendors, pool closes at 5 pm, even the ping pong table were of limits after 5 pm, timeshare sales people pushy. Will not recommend this place for families with children.

Had Fun but Now living Nightmare

They Like to promise lies about being a part of RCI and they Never delivered RCI membership ID or Card. We have had Plenty of credit card offers but no ID Card. What is worse we have not been able to use our week that we bought. Don't buy into their company use an reputable american company and only visit El Cid. we are still awaiting a response from the Customer Service Representative.

A friend and I stayed at the El Cid El Moro and had an excellent time. We stayed in a studio, which was perfect for the 2 of us as we did not stay in the room the entire time. The room had a very comfortable feeling and was always very clean. The bath tub was huge and excellent. The water tends to go from very hot to very cold extremely quickly. This was annoying, but at least they had hot water. We did go on a timeshare presentation but did not buy into the deal. Viewing the timeshare presentations were a great way for us to see what the resorts had to offer. (We saw the El moro and Mariana timeshare presentations). One of the gifts we received was two all inclusive dinner and drink wrist bands for 24 hours. We were told they had to be picked up by 6:30 pm at the front desk. When we called the front desk, to ask when we could get the wristbands, they told us anytime. We arrived to the front desk at 6:33 pm, to find out that we were to pick them up at Pronotours (right around the corner) and we did NOT get the wristbands as they were closed. I would recommend asking as many questions as possible from the timeshare people, when getting the gifts as they were not very clear. (This was frustrating, but we dont speak Spanish, which may have caused some problems. I would recommend eating at the El Capitino for excellent seafood or Panchos. I highly recommend going on the Deer Island tour. On the island, go on the banana boat rides, snorkel, or kayak. We were informed Stoney Island was dirty. The city tour is boring and the cathedral is not very exciting. We were recommended to go on the Visit copala tour, or the tequilla tour. The steak in Mexico is not very good and you will probably be very disappointed if you order it. Make sure when you buy tequilla it says something to the effect of 100% da grande. Overall, El Moro and Matzalan was a great place to stay and we will go back

We have owned a timeshare at El Moro for a few years & we ca ALWAYS expect friendly & very confortable accomodations. We just love El Moro's service & its people. We'd rate it a solid nine in a scale of 1-10!

Stay Away!

Late September 2005, my husband and I traveled to Mazatlan with my husband's sister and her husband. We stayed at El Cid El Moro Tower ~ a 2 bedroom unit on the 14th floor. We did not even make it our room before we were lured into attending a timeshare presentation (more on that later). The room was crawling with tiny ants for the entire week. There were several pools, but most were only in fair condition. Best things about the resort: Mexican Fiesta and some live entertainment. Worst thing ~ their timeshare sales pitch. Believe me, it is a scam. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law bought into El Cid Vacation Club and you can't believe the nightmare....everything they "promised" in the sales pitch turned out NOT to be true. They are still working on getting their money back (now 5 months after the visit). The Mexican police (Profeco) are involved, but thus far have not been helpful. It has been such a horrible experience, I doubt we will ever Mexico again.
