We have just completed a month long vacation at the Costa Bonita. Our unit was on the second floor with a beautiful ocean view, 2 bedrooms 2baths and fully equipted. Everything you could ask for. Colorful unit in the spirit of Mexico. Wonderful neighbors and such a lovely beach. Very friendly staff and owners. Easy access to the golden zone by bus or cab. Can't say enough about it except we will stay two months next year.

Costa Bonita ... Mazatlan's Best Kept Secret

My wife and I just got back from two weeks in Mazatlan, and can't stop talking about our fabulous find! Costa Bonita is a beautiful resort complex on the beach north of the Golden Zone. Close to Emerald Bay, yet costing a fraction of the price. Big resort amenities in a small and intimate environment. On-site gift shop, internet access, restaurant, bar, beach snack bar, pool, jacuzzi, tennis, gym, sauna, gas BBQ, volleyball, beach palapas, fish cleaning facilities. Inexpensive maid service available. Peaceful and quiet, yet only 10 minutes into the Golden Zone, via bus and taxi transportation. Our ground floor unit camee fully furnished. Queen beds, sofa bed in living room, full bathrooms, kitchen with full-size fridge, oven, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc. Utensils and place settings for 6. Cable TV. Phone. Outdoor garden patio overlooks pool. Huge patio on top of building is perfect for barbecuing and entertaining, with breathtaking views of the ocean. 3.5 miles of deserted beachfront at your doorstep. Easy walk up the beach to Playa Bruja, where Mr. Lionso's Restaurant features 4 lobster tails and 6 giant prawns for 130 pesos (about 12 bucks), and margaritas, 2 for 1, cost 30 pesos. Also check out Ginger's Bilingual Horses, for rides on the beach at approximately $10 an hour. It may sound too good to be true, but seeing is beleiving! We loved the place so much, we bought the unit in which we stayed! It is now available for weekly, monthly, or long-term rentals. All utilities included.

Top Local Tips for Mazatlan

Pueblitos Go to Pueblitos Restaurant. They have to die for food, excellent service, good pricing... the steaks are fabulous and the lobster is divine. Their veggies they serve are absolutely wonderful and their tortilla soup is the best

Pancho's is a MUST! Pancho's was so good that we ate there twice during our 1 week vacation. The Three Amigo's is a must have, along with the Banana's Flambe. The wait staff is very attentive, and Pancho makes sure to work the restaurant.
