We found the Brisas Del Mar Hotel by walking around. (Our previous hotel, advertised as 3-star, didn't have hot water and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for years.) This is the perfect hotel because it has the right mix of rooms and amenities. This isn't a mega-hotel, but still has four pools. The restaurant has a wonderful buffet for weekend breakfast, very reasonably priced. We're vegetarians and we felt like the staff cooked just for us. We're still raving about the food.
The very, very friendly staff gets to know you on a first-name basis, so you get the personalized attention you always want that the jumbo resorts can't provide. Our daughter celebrated her 7th birthday and the staff jumped in and helped with her pinata. This is the kind of place where you can leave your laptop out and never worry if it will be there when you return. Free wireless internet too! The rooms were very clean and modern. No surprises here!
This hotel is on the water but across the street from a bakery, small local stores and 100 feet from the bus line. Taxis and buses are easy to catch and inexpensive.
We'll definitely stay here again. Very kid friendly too!
Overall, very fair prices for rooms and food; great staff and location too.
