Top Local Tips for Los Cabos

Get in and get out of the airport! When you land you will pass immigration -have your passport, documents from the plane READY! Smells like Pine Sol in there! Then you get your bags and pass through Customs -Typical Red Light/Green Light system in Mexico! At that time no one was getting red lighted for bag searches. You then enter a huge white room with electric doors to the right and the left. I think to the right for was groups and left was for everyone else... the problem with this room is there are 50 reps in there saying stuff to you like... you must register here before leaving, sir you cannot pass without filling out these forms... it is ALL for timeshare tours, excursions, etc... Just keep walking pass the doors!! I opted for a rental car from Advantage that I booked through Amex for $185 for the week. Check with you credit card company for the insurance they provide in Mexico... if they cover you, then decline it... but be prepared for them to place a credit hold of $2000.00 USD on your credit card until return

Sunset Cruise Travel on a sailboat to a destination snorkeling bay. Great food and drink and a wonderfully romantic sunset cruise back to the harbor. You must experience this if you travel to Cabo

Be careful of Info/Activity Booths We booked a 'wave-runner' excursion to El Arco and were told we must give a $40 deposit, which we did and we were given a receipt. However, when we got to the waverunner place they said they didn't receive the deposit and if we wanted to ride...we'd have to pay for the entire thing. The wave-runner place was seperate from the booking place. We had a receipt, but the money was stolen, so we lost our deposit. For the booking, we dealt with individuals on the street, sitting behind a stand, they had on shirts with logos, etc., but there is no manager or company to complain to...no-one is responsible for them. Just be careful! I suggest you go to the beach and deal directly with the vedors there. They are more than happy to make a better deal!
