Flea Market The flea market in Itxapa is much better to go shop at. Very friendly people.
Boogie Boarder Tips for families with children. Although, we could boogie board at this hotel's beach for the first day. However, the next day the waves were huge. We took a taxi ride for about $5.00 and then took a sailboat for $20 to Los Gatos Beach (return was $9 for 3 persons.) It is just a 10 minute drive from our hotel. The long waves were just right for our 13 year old son. It is absolutely a must to go ala carte to this beach for 1/2 a day. This was our highlight of our trip. There are tours available but you have to pay $35-$65 a person...it is best that you just go on our own via the taxi. We admit when the taxi driver dropped us off ...we got approached to pay $20 to take us to Los Gatos Beach (no telephone, no electricity, only access by boat.) via sailboat. We could of just taken the many ferry boats that take you there for $3.00 each way per person. However, we have to say my son had a wonderful time and it was fun sailing there. We took pictures of the person who sailed us there....he was friendly!
Take a chance Don't just stay in Ixtapa for dining. Take a ride on the outskirtrs of Itapa and Zihuatanejo. Their great places to dine out and cheaper prices. I took my family and my inlaws to lunch at a restaurant on the beach. The party was of 14 and the bill came to $120.00 + tip. Everyone had sea food. Don't be afraid take alook around. You will like it.
