I stayed for four nights visiting a friend in Hermosillo and found the hotel to be great - competitive rates, friendly and helpful staff, nice buffet, good rooms and security. There was no safe in the room but the staff went out of their way to make a plan and keep my travel documents safe. And they speak English too. Well done!

Groups of people keep returning to this conveniently located hotel...myself since 2002. I agree with everything the other person wrote. Also, in addition to the staff being very friendly, there is always somebody at the front desk who speaks English--this is helpful for those of us whose Spanish is not up to par. Some tips I'd like to share. Request a room "near" the security gate--I have been in the back side of the hotel, furthest away from the security where people partied all night. I didn't know how to communicate to security about the noise. Also, being near the security keeps you away from the noise from the bar. Another tip is to request their non-smoking rooms if you are sensitive to ciggies. They really try their best to accomodate their guests, and they have a very easy to use online registration form...that is how I make my once/twice a year reservations. Never once had a problem. I can't say enough positive things about how awesome the buffett is! Like the other reviewer mentioned, there is food for all types of diets. We are a group of diabetics and vegetarians and vegans, and carnivores of course, and we each fill up on their delicious food.

I travel frequently to Hemosillo on business. I was directed to the San Angel by friends and they were right on the mark. The rooms are very clean and modern. Security is second to none and all gear left in the vehicles out in front of the motel type courtyard is well protected by 24 hour security. You cannot even get into the courtyard until you pass the security booth. All cars are noted and must have a hotel pass to even get in. Parking is free. There is also a small bar next to the 24 hour buffet style restaurant on the property. The bar is small and a little noisy when the music man is there but the beer is cold and well priced. The room costs are very very reasonable. It also has a laundry provision where they will do your clothing overnight. This is a very good option when travelling in Mexico as you can travel light and keep things fresh. The buffet is well stocked and anyone can find something to eat in this all you can eat format. Staff are always friendly and the 24 hour desk service is very good. The free shuttle from the airport runs anytime you need it and it is only 10 minutes away. There is a computer in the lobby and you can easily get a wireless signal for laptops in the room and restaurant. However, the signal sometimes drops off. Save your data often!!!! Well situated in for two main malls within walking distance to the hotel. Everything from Office Depot to Walmart is really handy. This is an excellent property to stay at. It even has a pool, but I have never had time to actually use it. In short, good clean rooms with comfortable beds, nice TV coverage and a very secure sleep in the secure compound style hotel. Rooms are well away from the buffet, bar, parking lot and two large conference- meeting type convention rooms.
