Bus ride to San Miguel was $9US first class - wonderful bus ride, the US needs to take note. San Miguel is very la-ti-da and very North American - expensive shops, art galleries, wonderul pastries, big big mercado for touristy stuff and other things, cool art school/center, but overall boring and expensive - we felt like we were back in the States and couldn't wait to get out of there, maybe it was the heat. Guanajuato much more authentic and very alive! Altitude of GTO is 6700 feet with minimal humidity - -hot days, and cooler nights; i could have brought a long sleeve shirt for the evening. Definitely bring a sweater.
