Robert Brady Museum Cuernavaca itself doesn't have a huge amount to offer, but it's worth hiring a taxi from the Mision del Sol to go into town and spend time at the Robert Brady Museum. Robert Brady (1928-1986), an Iowa artist who settled in Cuernavaca in 1962, purchased a house in the central portion of the city, renovated it extensively, and assembled a collection of 1300 works of art from all over the world. The house is now a museum open to the public, and it is a spectacular setting for a very eclectic gathering of objects. Brady used to entertain the likes of Maria Callas, Helen Hayes, Rita Hayworth, and Peggy Guggenheim, and one can well imagine the lively parties that must have taken place in this sumptuous home/museum.
