Top Local Tips for Cuernavaca

Make sure your Ice has holes When/ if you decide to drink water in a restaurant, make sure the ice has holes. This means that the water and the ice comes from a bottle and is safe to drink. If you do not see this do not drink the water! Since Mexico does not take care of the water the way we do it can make you sick if you drink it..... If you are worried about getting sick try brushing your teeth ( after a day or two or being there) with tap water this way your body will slowly build up a tolerance for it. That way if you should happen to ingest a bit of it you are less likely to get sick. :)

Visit Xochicalco We went there with a local taxi and met up with an English speaking guide from the nearest village to Xochicalco. This meant that we could take our time taking photos and asking questions about whatever tickled our fancy. We found the guide very informative, but not pushy. His name was Cesar Garcia. I would like to recommend him to other visitors. The contact numbers he wrote down ,are: ( 045) 777 133 9888 or 01 737 374 4188 ( home). When we went in April it was still exceedingly hot, take a hat and bottled water along. A visit to Xochicalco is well supported by a visit to the Palacio de Cortes.
