We found this place totally by mistake, and loved it! It was cheap ($20 U.S.) and it was simple. The folks that ran it were very pleasant. Don't expect much, a place to sleep and shower, nothing more. The "boys" that reside there (family?) come home very late and noisily on the weekend. Otherwise, it was great. No secure places to leave anything, but, no one bothered our belongings (hang on to that passport). The colonial is a few blocks from El Catedral, and tons of shopping. The closest, yummiest restaurant is Marco Polo (delicious!) You are equally close to El Jardin Borda. I recommend the bus ride to Tepotzlan. Be prepared to walk a LONG, HARD way to the top (ruins). The average out of shape human should expect the hike/climb/walk to take 1 1/2 to two hours. Be prepared to pay a couple of bucks to get into the ruins, at the top. You will also be mauled by medium sized mammals for food up there. The open market in Tepotzlan on the weekends...awesome! Enjoy Cuernavaca, it's great and so are the people. Take another side trip to Acapulco (Estrella de Oro Bus) approximately 4 1/2 hours- 5 hours. Happy traveling!
