Me my husband and 14 other people went on what we thought was going to be a great vacation without kids ended up being a vacation from hell!!! We always take our kids everywhere we go. We thought we go on an all-adult vacation without them and have a let your hair down good time. As soon as we got there, our problems began. The people were rude and uncaring of any problems that arose. The smell of the location was of that of the sewer. We ate on site at the resort the days we were there, the day I came home I was extremely sick for 9 days. I ended up in the hospital receiving fluid and strong antibiotics believe I contracted the bacteria the last night we were there. We went and got a midnight snack, brought it back to the room, opened a bottle of water that was provided by the resort, cracked open the lid, took a big drink and it tasted horrible! I smelled it, it was bad. Then I got my husbands drink, it was fine. I did not drink anymore but the damage had already been done. My husband did not get sick. But 7 out of the 16 that went did get sick! I will never go back to Mexico after the experience that we had.

THEY PISSED IN MY LUGGAGE!!!!

They PISSED in my luggage. I'm not kidding!! I was at the Reef Club in Cozumel on the Saber side witch is supposed to be the exclusive side of the resort. I asked to swich rooms to be in the same area with the rest of my party. It took two days and when they finnaly did it the rooms wouldn't be ready at the same time. They ASKED if they could move the luggage for us. Said we would have it in an hour. When I finnaly got it four hours later I was almost late for the wedding pictures. I opened the bag someone had urinated all over in my bag. It reaked and everything was wet. I had security and management up there verifing that yes that is urine. All they did was launder the clothes for me. Managements advice to me was to go home and forget about it. My advice to you is to forget the Reef Club in Cozumel. Many people also had food poisionsing and half the resort smelled like sewer. After dark you may get carried away by the biting insects.

Top Local Tips for Cozumel

VIsit the Entire Island Make sure you reserve one day to rent a jeep and go around the whole Island. Truly beautiful. Snorkle at some of the smaller beaches on the South and West sides of the Island. Make sure you eat at Senor Iguanas. If you have children I also highly recommend visiting Chakkunab park.

Things to bring Bring watershoes the beach bottom is a bit rocky ,bring lots of sunscreen snorkel and mask and try the water sports that the resort offers
