What a wonderful place. I can't wait until my next visit. I would suggest this hotel to everyone. I have tried the larger resorts and I wished I had saved the money. There is not another one better than Vista Del Mar.
We had some trepidations about staying downtown, having stayed all over Cozumel on past trips, mostly in more expensive hotels out of town. We will only stay at the Vista del Mar from now on. The room decor is lovely, and the beds are the best. Our room was on the back of the hotel, overlooking a nice little market that runs from 9 AM - 9 PM, but the gentle sound of our air conditioner blocked any noise and we slept til noon if we felt like it. If you want to sit by the little pool, you can run down the stairs to the Viejo Pescador and buy a couple of beers to take back to the pool, with a shot of the best tequila provided free. Our room had a king-sized bed, and a double bed for my son in a semi-private area. Every morning you roll over and call the front desk, and in 10 minutes you receive a tray with juice, coffee, and Mexican sweet rolls. How delightful to breakfast on your patio, for free!
