Top Local Tips for Cozumel

Nice...culture still thrives My fiance and I went on a cruise, and had a 10 hours stop in Cozumel. It was beautiful. The best thing to do is rent a Jeep and go with a group. The major road goes all around the coast of the island. The people are friendly, and they'll tell you the best places to go. We did not shop at the port. We decided to stop and shop at one of the roads on the sides of the road. They drive dangerously there, and it's only a 1 way street...so drive cautiously. Coconuts bar has the BEST guacamole ever! The bar staff is friendly and the food was good. They make the best drinks. Also, visit the tequila factory--you can see the agave growing in the fields. AWESOME!

cozumel...chichen itza I would recommend going to chichen itza.... however, its a 3.5 hour bus ride there so beware and make sure that you are on a full size bus with a bathroom. That is what we paid for and was told we would be on and ended up in a 10 seated van. when we got to chichen itza all the other buses were full size. There was no bathroom and no bathroom stops with out asking the driver who then randomly stopped at a private residence and asked permission for the traveler to use their bathroom. the seats were so close together that your knees rub the seat in front of you the entire time. You are unable to get a refund as you have to request the refund 36 hours prior to the tour and you dont know you are going on a van until they pick you up 1.5 hours after the tour is supposed to have started.
