Vivian, the concierge, and Jamie, the resturant manager, helped make our stay a very pleasurable experience. They are both absolutely wonderful. Vivian could use a little more knowledge of the local haunts, but she is from Canada, and speaks impeccable English, so that more than made up for any shortcomings. She also got us a great deal on a rental car for our stay.
The room-clean, neat, well furnished. Wish I knew how they folded those towels like animals.
The food-we only ate breakfast, for a buffet, it was very nice, and the setting, what a way to start the day, sipping coffee under an azure sky.
The view-Stunning. Overlooking the pool and sea.
The location-close, yet far enough away from the square. We didn't have the noise, but were just a short walk to the action. Also close to the new shopping center by the International pier and a major grocery store. Just about halfway between both.
We had friends staying downtown, who after seeing where we were staying, tried to move. They had been to Cozumel several times, and couldn't believe you could stay,in a place this nice, in town.
After spending a week, we will go back.
For a memeorable dining experience, try Aquario.
Down the street, exit and turn left, and on the sea side. Outdoor dining, American jazz, and great food. Reclining, by the sea, for after dinner aperitifs is a must.

Top Local Tips for Cozumel

Local dining If you like posole, try Otates--it's the best. If you're on the east side of the island, don't miss Chen Rio's seafood grill; a little pricy $75.00 but plenty of food for 4 people--fresh lobster, shrimp, red snapper, etc. with rice and veggies. Can't remember the name of the new "Italian-style" restaurant, but they've got a great variety of ice cream--very tasty!! Also, the city is very safe so don't worry about being on a backstreet at night.

Getting a taxi Walk one block off the main drag to flag a cab and the fare easily drops $1-3 dollars.

Sunday Fiesta Sunday in Cozumel is no cruise ship day. So, the locals have a fiesta in the town square. It is wonderful! Local bands play great music, street artists show off their crafts, and everyone is having a good time. I would highly recommend it.
