My Husband and I have stayed here many times through the years, and this past trip in December was one of the best yet. The Hotel had just re-opened after remodeling after hurricane wilma, and it was prettier than ever. The Hotel did a fantastic job.
The food and service there is outstanding, and though expensive, you get what you pay for. You pay for perfection and you recieve it. If you can afford to stay on the Club level, I highly recommend it.
This Hotel is perfect for a Romantic Vacation. Give it a whirl.

Top Local Tips for Cancun

Car rentals We found our low cost car rental was quite expensive due to undisclosed insurance costs tacked on at the airport. The hotel zone has excellent bus service every few minutes for $1 each way per person and taxis are inexpensive. If you aren't planning to travel by car to distant places on your own (many tour excursions are available on a/c comfort buses with boxed lunches or planned stops) don't bother to rent a vehicle. We requested restaurants within walking distance, as did MANY other hotel zone customers, and found the evening strolls in a light breeze enjoyable to help digest the meals. The only time we really used the car was to travel to the airport, Cozumel (which is much easier on the people boat anyway) and playa del Carmen. Travelling by car into town meant finding all the owners of cars that parked behind us and added traffic waits getting into the town at night. The Hotel Zone, as it is known, is very simple to navigate without a vehicle.

fine dining Who would have thought that Cancun, Mexico would have good restaurants. Our expectations were not very high , since we had vacationed in Cancun before , and found the restaurants to be mediocre at best. We were pleasantly surprised to find fine dining in the restaurants at the Ritz and good food at Harry's Steakhouse and Puerto Madero across from the hotel.

Great Stop If you avoid spring break this is a great stop with direct flights from almost everywhere and the most beautiful water in all of the carribbean.
