If I could go anywhere I wanted tommorow it would be the RIU Cancun. It will be our forth time there this Sept in five years and we cant wait. Show me any other hotel in the world where quite a few members of staff will recognise you on your next visit nine months later and I'll actually give it a go. Having made really good friends there it feels more like home every time. The food is excellent, the service 5*, swim up bar in the pool, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The rooms have the all important luxury of a beer fridge and optics and the maid may even make swans or even elephants out of towels for you. Even if it's your first time, you will be welcomed like you have been there every year for decades.
Absolutely Fantastic

Went to the Riu Cancun in May 2005 and all I can say is WOW. Hotel fab. Extremely clean and beautiful. Hotel Staff amazing could not do enough for you. Food no complaint. Plenty to choose from and lots of things cooked in front of you so you know that it is fresh. Pools great. Room well all I can say is excellent, we got upgraded to a junior suite and it was on the corner of the main building and it was absolutely fantastic. We loved it that much we have booked to go again 2007. This time though we have booked their premier seats with Thompson cause even though we booked for extra leg room it was still cramped.

Riu Cancun is one fantastic hotel, It is suitable for all! Food for all, activities for all, the animators dont pester you too much like they do at other hotels! Weather wasnt too good in August but the comfort of the hotel helped!
Would I return? YES!
Any negative aspects? The onsite scuba diving site 'Scuba Caribe' was possibly the worst organised Dive club iv ever been to!

Even though it has now been two years since I had the pleasure of spending two weeks at the Riu Cancun, I still have absolutely amazing memories of my time there. It truly is a hotel in a million. My friend and I decided that year to spend a litlle more on our annual holiday and as we both had always fancied Mexico we decided to go there. Boy, am i glad we did. On entering the hotel we were so amazed at the luxurious of it we spent the first few hours in hysterical giggles. This was definitely much more impressive than our usual cheap self catering deal. The rooms were magnificent, king size bed each, optics and a fridge full of Corona (what more could you want). I have never experienced turquoise waters like the ones in Mexico (although I have been told the Caribe is good also). The snorkelling was phenomenal. The sand was also so white it hurt your eyes.
All the staff at the hotel were amazing. I had never done all inclusive before and I could not believe the standard of it. The food was incredible, and even though some of the cocktails were rather weak, by our own standards, we very soon became known as the two English girls who liked their cocktails strong. The hotel is very much a couply place and would definitely be a fantastic place to go on your honeymoon, as so many couples were. There weren't many young and singles such as ourselves but this did not stop us having an amazing time. The only annoying thing about the hotel is unfortunately it is full of Americans and the majority of them were very loud and obnoxious. They certainly do view themselves as being above us 'quaint' British. Apart from this though I would recommend this hotel to all. I can't wait to return either this year or next.

Deep sea fishing. We spent a morning deep sea fishing and my wife and I both had sharks on at the same time!
