First off, it took over 1 1/2 hours to check in after 12 hours of traveling from Cleveland. The front desk workers were extremely slow. It almost seemed that they were taking their time on purpose. Tons of people in line and it didn't seem to bother them. Our first room was disgusting! The water was brown and bathtub wouldn't drain. The a/c didn't work, no towels, no ocean view. We kept calling the fromt desk and they kept putting us on hold to house keeping. No one answered. Finally after 4 hours someone dropped towels off. So the next morning, we waited in line again for 1/2 hour to change rooms. A little better but not much. The food was awful and it smelled really bad by the swim up bars. The restaurant servers were awesome. I travel often and would not return to this hotel!

All inclusive...not worth it. One bartender at each bar so you end up waiting for your drinks. Food was mediocre at best, even had a buffet at one of the two restaurants you needed a reservation for. Also, trying to get a reservation at these restaurants was ridiculous. Hotel room was nice but had to ask for coffee everyday for your room, went 2 nights without any washcloths and rooms were never cleaned very well (bathtub not washed, etc.). 1st time to Cancun and probably would not go back. Oh yeah, lots of stairs to climb everywhere in this hotel....37 down and up just to go to breakfast and lunch! Sorry, but this hotel should not be rated 5 star...more like 2 star.

We have just returned from our honeymoon which consisted of 4 days in Vegas and 10 days in Cancun, staying at the Oasis Cancun.
We arrived in Mexico late at night arrived to check in at the hotel where we had to wait for 1 1/2 hours (not what you need after loads of flying), we then were told we needed to visit the concierge for details of surroundings, he proceeded to tell us we had the lower purple wristbands so could not go into 7 areas of the complex, at the time we had not had chance to experience the surroundings so did not really know what he was talking about. He then used his powers of persuasion to get us to go on a tour of the hotel the following morning, which would mean we got a VIP breakfast, a 50 dollar voucher to spend in the shop, a day at a spa and a voucher for a free weekend in Cancun. Well we went, where we taken to the buffet for breakfast(not VIP), paraded around the hotel, made to feel small for having purple wristbands, not black, given the hard sell to join a holiday scheme, and took up 3 hrs of our time. After this experience, we walked around the hotel to look at the areas we could go in, and realised that ll of the nice places where maybe we would be able to sit and enjoy a drink on an evening, and a meal, that we could not go in! This is not what we expected on our honeymoon and our travel agent should have been made aware of the different rankings.
To cut a long story short, we were not impressed, there was no noce bar to sit in and enjoy the evenings, there were loads of teenagers/young loud brash adults, you have to queue for the restaurants to get a meal and the wait time was 2 hrs plus for anything other than the buffet. When you did get a meal in an ' a la carte' place, it was often undercooked. The buffet food was the same everynight, the waiters were often rude. There was no nice holiday atmosphere. No entertainment in the hotel in the evening, we didn't have good weather so really noticed the lack of this. The hotel does not represent Mexico/Cancun in any way. The bars you can go in look like car park areas and are dull and dingy. Our room sat above the noisiest generator in the world, and opposite the sewage works. Our TV didnt work (also not good when no nice weather) and last but not least we were advised we could have a minibar in our room on the day before we got home. All in all I would not recommend to anyone on honeymoon, over the age of 21, couples, people with young families. The hotel pool/beach etc are lovely but it is all let down by the rest of the facilities and staff.

After reading all the miserable reviews about the Oasis Cancun, I was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival. We were greeted by a wonderful bellman by the name of Alonzo. The front desk staff hooked us right up! No waiting...by the time I knew it I was relaxing pool side enjoying the beautiful views and being catered by our wonderful bartender Israel.
The food was fine, not gourmet, but very decent. Nice to have all the different food choices on site. It was quite and no rowdy parties in our area of the Oasis. However, there was alot of young people, just having a great time. No problems, everyone was very respectful. This place is clean, the night club very entertaining. I would highly recommend the Oasis for any budget seeking traveler!

This is the worst place in the world to stay. Welcome to hotel hell. Food sucked a/c didn't work it smelled like mould and it was nasty. Not to mention it took 2 hours to check in. Then we had to switch rooms 3 times. This is the worst place ever. I feel like I was raped. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
