We just got back from Cancun April 28th. We did not have any problems at all. The staff was very polite and helpful, also the maid service. We did not tip to get good service. In fact we didn't leave the maid anything until the day we left. She left clean towels every day. We also had bottles of water in the bathroom replaced everyday. The servi-bar was not included in the all inclusive, but the bottles of water in the bathroom were included. We had the all inclusive. We stayed in the new tower on the 3rd floor. Yes the beach was gone--but it was also gone from about 6 other hotels also. All you had to do was walk about a block or two and you could get to the beach. We walked at least 2 miles down the beach and none of the hotels had a good beach. We had an oceanview room which was fabulous. The food was really good also. There was a breakfast buffet each morning. Typical eggs, dry cereals, pastries, fruits, fried potatoes, meats, Mexican dishes, at least 4 fruit drinks etc. For lunches you could order from a menu--There were salads, burgers, pizza, shrimp, club sandwiches etc. For Dinner--they had a grill outside which you could choose as much as you wanted--New York strip steaks, rib eye steaks, chicken, 4 different kabobs-shrimp, chicken, steak or octopus. I tried them all and they were very good. you also got salad, dessert, rolls and baked potato. You can also order off the lunch menu or even order room service with the all inclusive. They also have the dine out program--which you can use 1 or 2 nights depending on how long you stay. We were they for 5 days. The location was great--one block down and there was shopping and restaurants and of course the clubs. We didn’t hear anything from the clubs while we were there and I am a very light sleeper. Of course if anyone stayed there during spring break--it would be totally different. We never had a problem with hot water. There was still light construction going on--mainly repairs. The pool was very clean. There were people constantly cleaning up-washing windows, rearranging the lounge chairs. Not once did we have timeshare people come up to us. In the new tower there are only ocean view rooms--none of the rooms face the street. We would definately go back again.

There was no beach and no jacuzzi. These were 2 things we really wanted. Advertising shows both! False advertising!

Bad Beach!

The hotel was mediocre, except we had to pay the hotel front desk an extra $100 for our water veiw room! The location for shopping and clubs are good, BUT the BEACH IS TERRIBLE there! They really have no beach at all. The only reason I go to Cancun is the beach anyway. Best hotel Fiesta Americana Coral Beach and Rui Las Americanas, top Notch!

Horrible Room

This is my 3rd time to Cancun, and I was so dissappointed in the Krystal. When we arrived, the check in was aweful. We reserved a suite overlooking the ocean, but we ended up with a standard room over looking the street. The check in lady was so rude, and would only give us an explaination that they are 98% full... which was a total lie. We did the all inclusive option, and were treated poorly, even when we tipped. The food was okay, but Bogarts restaurant was closed, and the morning buffet was the same food every day. The room's bathroom was horrible. The tub was rusty, ceiling moldy, and the door to the bathroom wouldn't shut all the way. One day, our room was cleaned but we never got towels. We called the front desk for towels, but never got them. So the following morning, the maid was in the hall and I asked for towels. She pretended to not understand, so I asked again, picked up 2 towels and she told me to leave in Spanish. The beach is washed out, and the jacuzzi didn't work. But the worst part was the check in lady was so rude and I felt like we got ripped off. Some good things about Krystal: The El Mortero restaurant food was fabulous, the Snack Bar pizza was very good, and the location of the hotel was nice for easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, etc. I would never stay at the Krystal again.

Best Location & Pool

My boyfriend & I have stayed in numerous hotels in Cancun, we like this one the best and will return next year. The pool is great, always clean, never crowded. We never had a problem w/ service or staff. We stayed in the club rooms on the 7th & 8th floors, well worth the upgrade. Make sure you ask for ocean view, it is spectacular! The club room guests have access to a private roof top pool. The hotel is close to everything, senor frogs, Carlos & Charles, hard rock, rain forest cafe, bulldog cafe, hooters, flea market, convention centre and a mall. We loved it!!!

Beware of TV Charge Scam

Overall less than average stay made worse by TV charge scam. First of all, service is poor - check-in took close to 20 minutes, staff not helpful - never felt like I was getting a complete answer to any question or concern I had - I'm a native Spanish speaker, so language was not to blame. While checking out, I noticed two "on-demand" TV charges to my room - each for close to $28 USD each. I had no idea the rooms even had a pay-per-view TV system. When I told them that I didn't order any movies, they produced a massive continuous receipt that showed all 'on-demand" orders for all rooms for that month. I could see a "time-elapsed" line on each of the itemized orders - most showing only few seconds of viewing time. The hotel claims an outside service is responsible for the charges and that even if you order by mistake, you are still responsible for the charges. Thing is, I know how to use a TV remote very well, and I know I didn't order a movie! At lease three others traveling in my group were also charged similar charges for TV use they didn't order. This is a massive scam they have going here – beware, better yet, stay away. And hey...$28 USD is a lot of money for a movie even if it were a legitimate order. Don't stay here - it's not worth it - so many more beautiful places to stay in PV - don't bother with a place that's out to scam its customers.

OK this is from a kids point of view. I loved this hotel. The pool was great and the ocan good too. (I loved diving for shells) THis is great walking distance of everything. The City, CoCO bongo, The rain forest cafe, the shoping, and a short bus ride to La Isla and stuff. I loved this hotel and could not ask for anything more.

Their hotel is only at 1/4 capacity right now because of the hurricane. Our phone didn't work, the shower tub didn't drain! You'll be lucky if you receive room service within 2 hours. Went to the restaurant and we brought our own drinks with us and they wanted to charge us for the drinks that we bought and brought to the restaurant. It literally took us about a half hour to settle the issue with the hotel manager. They nickel and dime you to death. They want a tip for anything you need help with. I had a broken leg and wouldn't help me navigate the facilities unless I tipped them. They could careless about the handicapped. You're looked at more like an inconvenience with money. Overall customer service sucked!! Fresh towels take over a day to get! I recommend the Fiesta Americana across the street!! Much BETTER!!

Timeshare is a fraud

Do not buy the timeshare at Krystal Cancan. Almost everything they promise you is a lie. They will promise you that you will be able to sell your weeks for a profit whitch is a total lie. It has been over two years and not one of my weeks have sold and I have even lowered the price. They also get their members to sign illegal waivers that they claim gives up your right to cancel in 5 days. This is illegal under Mexican law.
