Too good to be true!

Beware of time share sellers. I have read we were not the only ones who feel this way. They will say everything you want to hear but will not honor their word. After you sign the papers and come back to the US, they won't take your calls or return them. It was too good to be true.

Lost Luggage!

Leaving the hotel on to the bus to the airport my luggage disappeared. The hotel takes no respsonsibilty. And the manager was very arrogant when he was asked about the luggage. Not one phone accepted phone card either. I would never go back to Cancun Mexico. And my mom is a travel agent so she will not be sending anyone there either.

Our wedding bands and my wife's engagement ring were stolen and the Hotel's administration did nothing to help us. Also, beware of the time share sellers

Beware of time share sellers!

The Krystal may be a fine hotel, but we are "attacked" and verbally abused by time share sellers that used Krystal's facilities. The time share sellers, especially a so called football star, was very disrespectful. We gave more than the 90 minutes they asked for and left after 3 hours. They had the nerve to call us rude. Beware of the Time Share people at the Krystal, no matter how nice they seem.

Thank you for offering fine facilities to the snow-bound of northern United States. Mrs. Johnson and I have thoroughly enjoyed both Cancun and Puerto Valarta as time share holders in the Krystal program.

Top Local Tips for Cancun

Party Package If you are a spring breaker, it is worth it to buy a party package with a student travel company. Skip lines(big deal), VIP areas, reserved tables with bottles(some clubs), and makes the trip decision free at night.

Has great nightlife The northeast corner of the hotel zone has great restaurants and nightlife. The addresses will be around 9 to 10 km. You can walk to many of the events there.

Yaxchilan Strip Head downtown to Centro Cancun to Yaxchilan Avenue which is off of Uxmal Avenue. This is in the central market or mercado area. There is a simply wonderful section of restaurants and nightclubs that give you a great sense of the nightlife of the locals. Great local rock and blues bands and great food reasonably priced. Much better than the loud plastic discos and pricey restaurants in the hotel zone. If you like that, go there, if you want to see and enjoy the real local scene, try Yaxchilan Avenue. Bob Dylan would love it.
