Basic but great location

The Reception area leaves a lot to be desired and you think what have we come to. The walk through the garden gets better and you see the hotel behind the vegatation. Room size OK, shower room ropey but at least hot water every day. Eating place was like a transport cafe but luckily we eat at the sister Hotel - Dos Playas which has far more atmosphere. Also the grounds and swimming pool at this hotel are better but you need to be up early as all sun beds are taken by 7.00 a.m. The beach and location is superb, so all in all you get what you pay for and so we thought it was good value for money. Loads of food but better choice and quality in the Dos Playas than the Maya Caribe itself.

No hot water, rooms were not modern, water leakage in bathroom from wall and sink, air conditioner barely worked. All-inclusive could have been better (limited food selection). Not a comfortable place...better at home.

Basic accommodation but ok!

The accomodation was basic but o.k for our needs, shower worked and alwas hot water. The resturant was right on the beach and most days there was a good selection of food to chose from at all meal times. The staff were very frendly and helpful, they arranged for me and my wife to have our 30th Wedding anniversary meal on the beach, something we will always rember.
