Best Holiday ever

This was the best holiday we have ever been on. If you are there just to have a good time then it is fabulous! We could not fault the hotel or the rooms. We had a club room which was just beautiful and the bar tenders in that particular bar are so nice and really just keep the drink coming. Each member of staff are actually so pleasant. I am particularly fussy about food, however, it was so good. I liked the Italian the best. The French and Mexican was not to my taste but my boyfriend loved it. The bus into the center is so cheap and is a bit like a Fred Flinstone bus as there were holes in the floor, which we found quite funny.
Would go back in a minute

Dissapointed in the room service, beer we ordered where brought up in plasic juice glass with plasic wrap over top of juice glass. Head to pay extra for maid service. Too much noise from the generator, music too loud by pools, work being done in one pool area very noisy. Only 2 resteraunts open a day. Would not go back

We booked months in advance for a king room with an ocean view. We got a double with a view of the air conditioning unit. The bathroom floor had never ending water coming up out of the tile. After complaining, we were moved to a room with an ocean view, but no king bed. Front desk told us that you get whatever room is available at the time that you arrive. This place was kid central. Do not get me wrong, I love children. It is good thing there is an adult pool available. The food and service was good. You have to make resversations for the restaurants that were on the property, about 2-3 days ahead. I will not return to the Crown Paradise Cancun.

We stayed in a honeymoon suite which was beautiful, but was incorrectly advertised as having access to the Crown Club (when we got there we were told we did not).

The food was plentiful but not very good. As mentioned in another review, the fresh fruit and the spicy fresh salsa were very tasty but there is a lot of reheated/ recooked food. The French restaurant was the best, the Italian one the worst.

The beach is not safe for small children or weak swimmers. (Pay attention to the red flags.)

I would not stay there again.

Our family were at this resort for a week in mid December. Before I booked this vacation, I read all the reviews and understood that most people were unhappy with the rooms in the old building. My travel agent called the resort and assured me that the rooms have been renovated and I have nothing to worry. However, when we got there, the manager on duty told me none of the rooms are renovated and they plan to renovate soon. I was not happy at all. Our room had a tiny bathroom with rusts and cracks on the wall with patch work. The room itself had ants everywhere, literally dropping from our clothes left on the bench. Finally we had to call the front desk to do something about it.
For the first couple of days, everytime we got off the elevator to our floor, it smelled like sewage. That was a real turn off to us and wondered if we could survive this trip but then after couple of days, the smell disappeared. I will come back to this later.

The food is better than average. The buffet restaurant had plenty of fresh fruits and variety. As far as their specialty restaurants are concerned, French restaurant and seafood are the only ones worth going. I was not impressed with the rest and had to go to the buffet restaurants after going to thoese restaurants. They also have Japanese restaurant that serve lunch. I went there couple of times and although they don't measure up to the Japenese restaurants in Toronto, it's a nice place to go when you get tired of buffet lunch or burgers. The one of the highlight is the salsa that is always available. It is very spicy and delicious. I will miss this dearly.
The beach is small and the water was very rough. I would not leave my kids without being in the water with them. But my kids also liked going to the Kids club. The kids club had great water park and activities for the kids. Sometimes we left our kids there for the caretakers to take them to buffet for dinner. This was very convenient because then my husband and I could go and have quiet dinner together.

The transit system in Cancun is really great. They come almost every two minutes and you can't really get lost. We went to Walmart to buy water and it was really convenient. However, when we got off the bus in front of our hotel, we noticed this really foul smell coming from the building across our ressort. It was so bad that all of us had to run past it. Later, when we were up at adult pool/hot tub that is located above the main floor, we were able to see that building and what appears to be a water treating plant/sewerage system. No wonder it smelled so bad. That also explained the foul smell in the hallway. Depends how the wind blows, the smell sometimes seeps into the building. Anyway the realization that the building is located so close to the sewerage system really bothered me. I mean I would not want to live close to the sewerage plant so why would I want to vacation beside it?
Over all, this resort is reasonably priced for value conscious vacationers. If you don't mind the rundown hotel rooms and foul smell that blows in at times, then I would recommend it. As for me, I would pay a little more and vacation somewhere else next time.

P.S. I should mention that the staff were all excellent and accommodating. I was very impressed with the service.

I don't understand why this hotels rating is so low. I stayed in this hotel for weeks and me and my family thought this hotel was amazing so very 1 who has rated this hotel low is wrong so very rong. The rooms are big, u have a good view of the ocean. ou can walk right down on to the beach. The food and drink is top quailty and it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

We went to Crown Paradise for our honeymoon. On arrival we checked in and were given a standard room. When we went up to the room we were not impressed. It looked like something you would get in a club 18-30 holiday, very basic and dated, even rust in the bathroom. We went down to complain and to say we were honeymooners and were expecting a little better. This didn't make much of a difference. They said if we wanted a better room we had to pay more. After an hour we decided to give in and pay the extra. When we went to the new room we were surprised by how different the room was.It was more of what you expect, a lot better. It's just a shame that we didn't get this from the start. It's hard to believe a hotel would have rooms that are so different in quality. It's like two hotels in one, the bad and the good. The other parts of the the hotel were good, the staff, the pools, the resturants and the bars. If your going there, I suggest you don't stay in the standard rooms.

Me and my girl friend have been to this hotel 7 times and we love it. We have had the best times in Cancun at this hotel. We met a lot of good people and the staff have become good friends(most of the staff we know work at the sister hotel now) I would recommend this hotel. You will have fun if that's what you came for. No hotel is perfect. It does have some things that I don't like or would complain, but it does not stop me from staying here. Come see for yourself.

We was really worried about going to this hotel as we had read the reviews. We're so glad that we did as we had the time of our life and would most certainly go back again. When we arrived, we were in the old building on the top floor, 7th. As soon as we opened the door my husband said I'm not staying in here. I didn't even unpack anything. Being really tired, we decided to go to bed early also my sister-in-law and husband had the room next door and they felt the same about their room. Anyway, had a good sleep. Next morning open the patio doors to see them apartments and the ocean ,what a different opinion I had then. It was so pretty and we decided to stay in that room. It was cleaned everyday. Everything about this place was fab, the food you could not fault. It was A1. The service, the surroundings, the bus service just outside hotel. Never waited longer than a minute. I will say though that the sea is very very choppy. It's impossible to go in with children! The pools are lovely. You have waiters coming around to get you a drink. I must say the food is outstanding and it is well worth it. The staff work really hard there, are always cleaning there. We did tip the staff only a dollar a time, but it was worth it seeing their faces. They are still lovely even if you didn't tip them. All I can say, my experience was amazing and I will certainly go back to Crown Paradise Cancun.
