All Inclusive Having A Laugh!!!

From the moment we arrived, we realised that all inclusive this is not! As far as getting a drink is concerned, you either need to wait for an hour or so till the 2 barmen behind the 1 bar in the hotel decide they may serve you! We ended up buying our own drinks on an all inclusive break!! Food is fab, but waiting staff not happy to get you a drink unless you tip! Rooms very basic for a luxury holiday with worn out and dated furniture. Walls paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the next room! Fabulous variety of food, which I cannot fault, and always able to get a table
The usual early morning rise to get a sunbed! Long long wait at reception of at least 20 mins, on arrival after your 10 hour flight! Fab clean grounds. Fabulous beachside location with the most stunning turquoise seas. Lots of activities for the kids and close to lots of shopping centres and bars and an aqua park nearby. Would have been a really good holiday other than the lack of alcohol and soft drinks, and the shabby rooms.

It was incredible, the hotel, the architecture, inside and out, we just had the most luxurious junior suite with a hot tub. The view was magnificent and the food was beautiful, fresh, everything from sushi to Italian. Even at 4am there was burgers and salad avaliabe.
The staff were better than great and all that takes is a US dollar or two as a tip, show your appreciation for there fantastic service and genuine hospitality.
My fiancee and I had the most wonderful time there and they off local services for things like 4wheeling,scuba,jet skiing, and other tours.
We used all local buisness for all our ventures, everything from swimming with the dolphins to seeing local ruins and all was professional and a fantastic experience.
The junior suite with the hot tub on the 8th floor is for me, a vacation I am doing again.

Not the greatest

First night we were put in a room similar to something you would see in Tijuana, Mexico. We were in building 1. Dirty with cockroaches, and very outdated. No bed sheets, cracks in the floors and walls. The walls and doors were so thin you can hear someone sniffle, cough, and other stuff we didn't want to hear from the hallway, and the room next to us. We complained to the manager. We sent thousands of dollars to have a nice, clean, room etc. etc. He told us that this was an upgraded family suite and there was nothing else available. We decided we would deal with it being we had no choice, and figure we would be spending most of our time away from the room. Day two We realized after both myself, and my young son slipped and fell in the bathroom that there was a leak coming from the floor underneath the bathtub. After he realized that it was not a safe place to put a family suddenly a room became available in building 2. We checked it out, it was the difference between day and night. The room was updated, cleaner, a beautiful ocean view. The entrance door still made out of very thin wood. Telling you this because if you are a light sleeper you won't get any sleep. A few times a week they have beautiful Loud music til about 1. We were able to sleep ok after a long day in the sun and a couple drinks. But easily woken up by people walking down the hall. Footsteps were very loud. The ocean is very pretty, but has a very strong current. My young children didn't enjoy the water because it kept sweeping them away. This is better if you are a boogie border, or surfer. Not good for snorkeling, or swimming in. The swimming pools were very nice. You are given towel cards for however many visitors you have. You trade in the card, they give you a beach towel. When you check out you have to return the right amount of cards otherwise it is a $35.00 charge per towel. Keep in mind the people that lose their towels will steal yours right out from under your nose so they don't have an extra charge. But you will. Even if you say it was stolen. We had four in our room and had left for the day leaving one in the bathroom to dry. It disappeared after housekeeping came to clean. They argued that they took it therefore we were responsible for the $35.00 charge. We tipped 5 bucks to our housekeeper before we left for the day. Came back at one pm wasn't cleaned. Called housekeeping, told them we needed it done asap. Checked on the room again by 730 pm still not done. Finally We are ready for bed by 930 pm and it was never cleaned. Called the manager, and complained it was cleaned within a half hour. BUT one of our room keys were missing. We purposely left one in the light switch to keep the air going and when we went back up to the room at 11 it was gone from the lightswitch. You will also be charged for the plastic credit card type room key like 50 bucks if you lose it. So I raised Hell after positively knowing the housekeepers took it out. They gave me a new one for free. But because of the whole situation our housekeeping sucked until we left. Always half assed when it came to cleanliness and being stocked with towels, toilet paper, soaps Etc. The restraunts in the resort are GREAT! You have Mexican, French, Italian, Seafood, Sushi, and the Buffet. The waiters bust their butts to please you. They are very friendly and helpful. If you decide to go there keep in mind these people make a whoppin 5 bucks a day and rely on good tips. Over 2 weeks we spent over $600 on tips. If you don't tip your service will suck from then on out. The kids club was good. Fun swimming area, they do movies with the kids. They have a dance club for the kids, and will take them to dinner for you. They also have really cute programs they perform. The baby area was fun if your child isn't afraid of being left without you. A little pool, lunch, snacks, and a few cribs for nap time. Also... Say your flight out is 6 in the evening, you have to be out by noon. If you don't have a rental car to stash your bags in you would be better off carrying all of your luggage around with you. They have a room to hold your luggage but not organized at all. Anyone can come in and say "oh, thats my bag" and take any that they want. They don't seem to keep names or numbers on them to keep them safe from everyone. The bars were good. Fun people, and music. Great drinks, and bartenders!! I personally won't go back. But if you do decide to go request the second building. I think its a hit and miss thing with people and their experiences, So Good luck!!

The positive, the food was excellent, the staff take good care of the kids, lots of family around the pool. The neg. Not too many people to clean around the pool, thus lots of birds in the pool area. You did have to reserve in the morning for the restaurant but it was well worth it. We did get in without reservation and it was fine too. The rooms where not perfect, but clean. No ants in our bed.

Best holiday I've been on!! I stayed here with my boyfriend from the 10th Oct to 25th Oct 2007. I read some reviews before going and was upset by what I read, I thought we had made a mistake staying here with reading some of the bad stories but I couldn't find a fault. The only thing i wasn't very happy with was our room, it was in need of an update! That was the only thing I could moan about, apart from the heat!! But the rooms are all airconditioned that go down to 10 degrees (freezing cold) so you can go back to the room to cool down if the sun is too much :) If you are staying at this hotel and like me have read some not very nice reviews, dont worry you will soon see how nice it is when you go. The people are very nice, but make sure you tip them, it will be worth it if you want to get served at the bar. We was only tipping about $1 and they couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is very clean and the food is gorgeous, make sure you try some of the cocktails, they know them all and will make you anything you ask for. Hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did. :) xx

First of all let me start by saying don't believe all you read all the negative feedback is rubbish my husband and myself and our friend stayed here in September 06 and from the moment we arrived until the time we left we had a great time the staff were brilliant the rooms were cleaned daily fresh towels the food was great the maids wont rest until your room is cleaned I was poorly one day ( nothing to do with the hotel )and we told them to leave the room but they came back 4 times to clean I have travelled all over and at other hotels when I have asked them to leave it they do exactly that ok the decor could do with updating but its not that bad I have been to worse no problems with any restaurant or any trouble with sun beds in fact we enjoyed it that much we have booked again for next year come on give this hotel a break its not as bad as some people make out or are us English easier to please than some.

This hotel is a dump! My room smelled like insecticide and when i asked to switch room, they claimed hotel was completely booked. Then when i returned again to complain, they moved me to a time-share room which had ants crawling all over my bed. Which is why the first room smelled like insecticide. All the restaurants require u to RSVP a day in advanced and the hallways and elevators do not have A/C. The service is well below standards.

Our room was falling apart, the toilet was leaking everywhere, the drinks were watered down, and the food sucked. And you needed to make dinner reservations every night. If you wanted a seat by the pool, you need to wake up at 6am to reserve it, and sometimes people take it anyways. Its supposed to be all inclusive, including tips, but the staff expects to be tipped on top of what they are already paid. A total ripoff.

This is now a very unloved and getting very old and tatty hotel. The Crown paradise club claims to be 5***** however being from the UK and travelling allot as I do, I would be more likely to rate this 3*** with bell boys. We have just returned from there this week and here are a couple of points to note. Rooms are getting fairly old and tired now in need of decoration. If you get a room on any floor above the midway snack bar or indoor pool rooms from --36 up to --51 beware the noise is awful especially from 5.00am to around 9.00am. The clear the snack bar at around 5-6am and the banning and clattering is terrible, voices echo at this early morning time and people returning from night clubs can be easily heard. Lock everything away in the safe, even change (money) will go missing from your room, some maid helped herself to nearly 30 peso's, not allot I know but it's the principle. Reception didn't really want to know. If you have kids be prepared to get a sun bed reserved at around 5.00am or you will not get one, there is a lack of beds around the two pools outside. The adults pool is nice to site and very relaxed but the pool itself is scummy around the edges really needs a good clean, the maintenance men keep the chlorine level ok but needs drained and cleaned. The Italian restaurant is closed at the moment in the evenings, as it's currently sharing with the cocco dance bar. Staff were friendly enough except reception staff who are rude and claim not to understand you, Ok i.m scottish but we all talk English. Food is Ok but not by anyway 5***** mexican restaurant is crap buffet is OK.

Top Local Tips for Cancun

La Dolce Vita Italian restaurant is a must... excellent food and view of lagoon!
