we went there in 2008 and stayed at the verano beat, liked it alot. maybe not the best standard ive seen but the place was clean and kind of rustic,big rooms,the ac was working, you felt secure and the service was good,and back then the price per night wasnt that expensive compared to other hotels in the area...but the food was not that great, so dont pick all inclusive at this place..

Top Local Tips for Cancun

Avoid Cancun unless you're going to party! Cancun used to be a place to get away, to see the beach, to explore the Mayan culture. No more! It is a place where mexican food is what you get at Taco Bell (glorified of course); where mostly American go to get drunk and puke; what's the need for a Hooters there? and where 99% of hotels sell you an all-inclusive to stuff you like a pig and keep you away from the real Yucatan. It's another Vegas-like entertainment trap for the average brainless twenty-something looking to get laid. Go on a real tour, enjoy the real beaches, avoid Cancun and head for Playa del Carmen, or get a rental car and stay the whole time in little towns like Valladolid or even by the ruins of Chichen Itzá at Mayaland hotel. Let the inflated prices of Cancun come down!
