I am 25 and I went to Cancun with my family Mum Dad and my 2 little brothers who are 8 and 11 for christmas, so I thought I would be a bit bored on holiday, but thanks to the entertainment team at the Aquamarina it was my best holiday ever. Jesus, Ivan, Joseph, Maria and Chicken (Carlos) really helped make this a brillant holiday, with the games by the pool during the day and there shows at night. Also the restaurant and bar staff were brillant, they really looked after us well and were all really friendly.
I had such a good holiday i didn't want to come home, my family are going again this Christmas and will definitely be going with them.

The staff made our holiday!!!

For the price, we got what we payed for! The food was rubbish. The staff more than made up for it!!! The location was ideal, just a busride away from town. The pool was lovely and always something going on. The entertainment is only an hour long at night and there isn't enough seats for everyone in the lobby bar. But the staff, annie, rachel, nemo and everyone else made our holiday, we would go again but take more money to eat out.

Good for party on a budget!

The hotel is definitely 3 star or less. It s a great place to hang out at the pool, eat, drink and party on a budget. Staff is friendly, food is decent. Though there is a good playground on premises, it's not a family place. The music is loud by the pool all day and all rooms with the nice view face the pool area. The rooms is ok, weird smell in the bathroom because of standing water in the shower (yuck). But the worst is that the beach is not good for swimming at all. The water is dirty, a lot of weed, rocks, etc. The sand is clean for playing, that's just about the only good thing there.

On the plus size everyone tries to make you feel welcome and it's a good place for budget young singles.

Room are small without a refrigerator. The Jaccuzi is broken, table tennis tables have no nets, beach vollyball has no net, service and food is terrible! It is NOT a 4 star hotel!!!
I will never recommend it to anyone of think of going back.

Top Local Tips for Cancun

Very good stakehouse accross road from aquamarina beach hotel youwill use it I was looking foreward to a nice 50 th birthday and a good rest away from work with some sand and sea and a lot of sun.But what i got was the aquamarina beach hotel in cancun, a big let down.But we did find a very nice stakehouse called the rio brazil,

havin a laugh defo go out to all the nightclubs with aqua reps only extra cost at hotel but well worth the night out

Its so easy bus R1or R2 takes you anywhere in the hotel zone for 6.5 pesos.Take the R2 to the bus station and head for playa del carmen, 35 pesos, 1 hour ride and a great beach day out, loads of bars. restaurants, totally different to Cancun, better i think. Chicen Itza tour available here, if you do it independantly, make sure to hire a personal guide, you will get a lot of input
