Cliff Divers If you stay at Villa Vera, go see the cliff divers at the other end of the city...take the bus it's super cheap and easy. If you go to the sunset show, which I recommend, instead of going all the way home, take a taxi ride half way and bar hop the rest. There are some many great places to see!

Sebastian Hernandez tour guide and driver Don’t use regular taxis. Contact Sebastián Hernandez first, a licensed taxi driver and tour guide. Based on so many positive recommendations from other reviewers, we contacted him in advance (eskp_rsh@hotmail.com). How wonderful to be able to walk by all of the airport salespeople and taxi drivers by saying, “I’m meeting someone.” Sebastian uses the air conditioning all the time (a rarity in Mexico!) and has plenty of room for luggage in the trunk in his 4-door car with a luggage rack on top. Planning our week was easy because Sebastian speaks lovely English. My husband and daughters and I told him what interested us; we got ideas from him and others; and we set our own schedule a day a two at a time. Sebastian was always on time, friendly, and helpful. Sebastian is more than a taxi driver. He is also a tour guide and a friend in Acapulco (eskp_rsh@hotmail.com). Riding with Sebastian is like having a cousin in town who loves his city and wants you to enjoy it as much as he does. His English is great; his prices are reasonable; his air conditioned car is much better than the blue and white taxis; and he is a kind, honest man.

Rental car?? Maybe We rented a car because we were going to drive to Zihua for the second week of our trip, but finding the hotel was VERY difficult. We finally resorted to stopping and asking people on the street about 6 times before finally finding the resort. U S tourism is more rare here than it used to be and it is rare to find something who speaks much english at all. My spanish is not good at all, but thank God I knew a little at least or we may still be searching for the Villa Vera. It is a much better deal to book your car in advance if you intend to get a rental. We got a new VW Jetta for 2 weeks with unlimited mileage, automatic, and air from Alamo for $508.00 including all the taxes and $10.00 a day damage waiver. Also we got an expensive lessen that Mexico now has seatbelt laws. They told me they would have to take me to the police station and my fines would total more than $300.00, but---they settled with me for $150.00 U S cash on the spot. OUCH!!!
