Top Local Tips for Acapulco

Arriving at Acapulco Airport When you arrive at the airport, you will stand in a line for immigration. Once cleared you walk through and pick up your luggage off the belt. Then you must place your luggage on a screener machine. At that point do not separate from your significant others. You had to write on a sheet how many pieces of luggage you have because once they come out of this machine they count them and make you press a stop light button before you can proceed. Once you have baggage in hand, move around the corner. At that point you will be mobbed by people trying to get you into their taxi. Negotiate the price or buy a coupon inside and when you walk out hand it to the drivers. It can be a little overwhelming.

ROBERTO ALARCON is the BEST!!!! If you want a great experience in Acapulco, you must hire Roberto Alarcon as your tour guide. He was born and raised in Acapulco so he is very imformative. He lived in US for many years, so he speaks excellent English. He has a nice new clean van, and will take you anywhere you want to go. His rate is very reasonable and he is worty every dollar. Flooding - Sep 2007 If you're planning to rent a car, be warned that the main road from the airport to the city center was torn up for construction, and is now inder 2 feet of water from recnet rainfall. There are detour signs - but even those have high water - be careful!
