I placed a reservation online around 05/15/2006 for one night at the end of july at Watson lake hotel (it's the same reservation center for Belvedere and Gateway). I received finally an email about one week later to confirm but also asking credit card informations to guarantee the reservation. I sent a fax the same day with these informations and asking them to confirm that now my reservation would be guaranted. 3 weeks later, I'm still waiting for an answer !!! I have sent 3 emails, one other fax, and called : the girl on the phone was unable to tell me if I had a reservation. They have catched my credit card informations, but don't want to tell me if I have a reservation : It's a real nightmare !!! And I need a room when arriving late in the evening at Watson lake. If I reserve elsewhere, I presume that Watson lake hotel will find my reservation and charge my credit card, and if I don't reserve elsewhere, I take the risk to have no room for the night, after a 600 miles day on alaskan highway... and I cannot cancel a "no reservation". I have travelled in North america for more than 25 years through all the 50 US states and most of canadian provinces. I have placed hundreds and hundreds of room reservations. I had a very few problems ( most of them in western Canada ) and never such a nightmare ! A very angry Frenchman
