Jaro hotel (Palace Royale) in Quebec city was disgusting! When you look at the picture with the pool & terrace balconies - you will be deceived into thinking this is luxury. The reviews on the website are all positive because they don't allow the negetive ones in. The dirty beige hotel rugs reek of cigarette smoke, even in the non smoking rooms. The bed is very uncomfortable. The decor is tacky and dirty. When we arrived, the bed sheets were not even covering the mattress, displaying the mattress underneath. Sloppy. We were a family of 4 and instead of getting a room with two beds as we asked for, we got a bed and a pull out. MORE uncomfortable. The a/c unit made everything feel moist in the room. The pool was SMALL. Over crowded. Breakfast in the morning was so-so. Staff were unprofessionally dressed. Again sloppy. Shirts hanging out. Not very helpful. When we called on our way there for directions to the hotel we asked if it was near the Hilton. (which is was across from) and the...... Read more
