As a marketing specialist and a connoisseur of great hotels worldwide, I know quality. In my opinion, attention to detail is what makes a hotel memorable or forgettable.. This small Victorian hotel hits the mark – absolutely superb! I would even go as far as to say one of the 5 best hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience in Canada. My wife and I spend 3 nights in February in centre old Quebec City at the Clos Saint-Louis for our anniversary; there was not one moment that I do not treasure. We stayed in the superior guest room no 1 that was very spacious and luxurious. Flowers, chocolate, strawberry and champagne, whirlpool bath; the rest is up to your imagination… Our continental breakfast made by the owner every morning was way more then expected and delicious. As I read in many great reviews on this site and others, the staffs were efficient & friendly - always eager to please. They send us to the St-Amour restaurant and the Champlain at the Chateau for their famous...... Read more

My wife and I (ages 45 & 47) spend the first 4 days of our 20th anniversary trip at this romantic Quebec City hotel during the Quebec Carnival last week. Lots of snow, fun and love…We did extensive web research before selecting the Clos Saint-Louis, and was very proud of our selection. No complaints whatsoever. The rumours are true… Courteous and efficient staff; very helpful at all time, walking distance to a number of local attractions and restaurants, great value, very charming owner. To tell you the truth, we felt like this was our home. As suggested by the owner we dined at the famous St-Amour restaurant on Saturday night. Just loved it! Our room at the hotel was very stylish and with a modern bathroom and excellent bedding and décor. Truly romantic & Victorian. If you can afford it, this is a must stay for Old Quebec City! You will not be disappointed.
