Top Local Tips for Quebec City
the best & the worst The best Italian restaurant in Quebec walled city: Portifino. Best food, best service and best desserts. The worst shopping experience: Bibi & Champagnie hat shop. Do not shop there unless you're white and speak French. The old woman and her husband hurled racial results at us when she realized I didn't appreciate any of her hats on display. She proceeded to plop a clown hat made of bulap on my head when I was leaving her store and said, " maybe you prefer this to Italian straw" She then directed us to Simons, where she claimed they sell all junk made in China and that we should be more comfortable and happy with cheap Chinese junk. My husband confronted her racist way and the woman shoved my daughter when they tried to leave the store. Shop at your own risk!
Lots to do in Quebec City There is a lot to do in Quebec City - much more than Montreal in my opinion. Make sure you take the boat tour that departs from the St. Lawrence and takes you down to a view of the Montmorency Falls. Be sure to check out the Citadel, the Battlefield Park, and walk all the streets of the old city. It's fun. Also, and it's a short drive - check out the Saint Anne Basilique - which is about 20 minutes away. A beautiful church. Also, make the effort to go up close to the Montmorency Falls - it's super fun and cool.
