Service Great but Room not up to Expectation

After seeing all the positive reviews for the Hotel Dominion 1912 including being rated a Fodor's Choice I expected to have an excellent experience. For our vacation, we stayed 3 nights in a Deluxe Room in the new section of the hotel. I found the room not up to the hype and the room does not match the comforts I usually find at this price point. The room has air conditioning that works well but the computerized thermostat is so confusing my husband, who writes computer programs, had to ask the staff to come up and show him how to use it. The staff indicated that there are instructions but if a thermostat requires instructions it is too confusing! The rooms do not have electronic key locks; they are a regular metal key with the room number on it. Security concerns eliminated those types of locks years ago, but this section of the hotel is only 3 years old. The lighting in the room can only be compared to a fine dining restaurant.
