Rent an Apartment We rented a charming one bedroom apartment on Rue De Remparts, through VRBO. Our host, Ed Sweeney, went out of his way to assure our comfort. Try this option to the hotel scene. you'll get a nice accomodation,with amenities at very reasonalobe rates.

Stay in Levis and take the ferry to Old Quebec My wife and I stayed in Levis (the south side of the St. Lawrence River, right across from Quebec City). We drove about 1km to the ferry terminal. The cost of parking for the day was $5 and the cost of taking the ferry was $5.50 per person return ($2.75 each way). The ferry left every half hour and ran from 6am to 2am each day. The view from the ferry is excellent for photographs. It gives you a good idea what it was like to sail up the river and see the city first hand. The ferry lets you out at the harbour in old Quebec so there is no need to try and maneuver a vehicle through the tight traffic. Considering the money we saved by staying in Levis, it was more than well worth it. My wife was skeptical about my plan but thought it was greatest idea when put into play.
