Do not stay at this hotel!
1. We had a suite for 4 people and were charged extra per night for this. This is fine, but they have nerve not leaving one towel per person. They left us 2 towels. I spoke to the maid to tell her there were 4 of us, she said we could only have 3 towels and she gave me one extra for that day only. Then she left us 2 each day. We had to scavenger the maid's supply closet every day for clean towels while she was attending to another room. This is not relaxing for a guest. Every day, she got 4 dirty towels, but it clearly didn't occur to her how they got there or that she should leave one for each guest. This is STANDARD to leave a clean towel for each guest. This is not unreasonable. We were charged an extra charge and this is how they treated us.
2. One of us is pregnant. She told the hotel this and asked for 2 extra pillows because she needed them to sleep, and the hotel said no! Two of us forfeited our pillows to her so she could sleep, which means two of us didn't get any sleep during our stay. In a 3 star hotel, if a guest asks for extra pillows, the hotel should provide them. This is not an unreasonable request.
3. We almost ran out of toilet paper, and the maid did not leave a roll when she cleaned the room.
4. The fridge did not keep anything cold.
5. The room AC did not work and the windows don't open so you suffer.
6. There was duct tape on the remote control.
7. There are 28 floors and only ONE ice machine in the entire hotel.
8. Our 4th person was sleeping on the sofabed and we had to call the front desk 3x to get sheets and a pillow. After the towel/pillow experience, we hid the sheets and pillow each day in the closet so we wouldn't have to beg for it each day.
9. Garbage trucks make a ton of noise very early in the morning and we heard them on the 6th floor. This is not mentioned in the hotel website.
10. Upon checkout, I asked to speak to a manager to discuss these matters and the desk clerk paused, said "um" a lot, and then said the manager just happened to have stepped out. How convenient. I think many people complain and this is what they do to avoid hearing how much the hotel stinks.

Upon our return home, we followed up with the hotel. They denied any of the claims, and clearly have no intention of making any corrections. I am posting reviews and found similar complaints on other websites. Go to Montreal, just don't stay here.

Travelling on business can be lonely and exhausting. The hotel suites were extreamly comfortable and had lots of space compared to other hotels I have been to in the past. The rooms were very clean and I liked the scent of the room ammenities. I wish I could have bought some during my stay.

The hotel had valet parking which was great and there is a metro down the street which is convenient if you do not want to drive everywhere.

Everymorning I went down to their breakfast buffet that they had on the second floor over looking the lobby on one side and Sherbrooke street on the other. The fresh baked goods were delicious and the coffee was excellent. All the staff were extremely curtious and plesent to talk to. They were most helpful in giving me directions to various location for my bussiness meetings.

Next time I am in Montreal I will definately stay at the Cantlie as it feel a lot like home.

We stayed at here for one night in June 2006 and our stay was terrible. I have never been treated so poorly by hotel staff in my entire life and I have traveled around the world. Our rooms were not ready even though I asked for an early check in, I was given a room key to someone else's room and walked right in, our 3rd room was 4 floors above the other 2 so our group was split up, our pull out couch was broken and we were only given one cot to compensate, we were charged for 2 extra people when there was only one extra person. When I tried to sort out the extra charge at checkout, Sam at the front desk told me he received a noise complaint from our room and didn't want to hear any more from me. After everything I had been though (without one apology) I was the one being scolded! The hotel has a policy of making the guests clean their own dishes or you are charged $50. I am sure guests before us just put their dishes back after they used them without cleaning then because I found dirt and fingerprints on the glasses. Never stay at Le Hotel Cantlie Suites. The staff is incredibly rude and disorganized.

We have already been severals times to your hotel & have brought you another couple of devotees namely Lou Audet & Marie Audet from Toronto. They are very happy we told them about you!! We find the rooms spacious & comfortable. Your location is excellent, your breakfast delicious. We hope you don't increase your rates because we are on a strict budget.

We stayed at your hotel from Friday, Sept. 3 through Tuesday, 7th. On Monday (late afternoon/early evening) I stopped at the front desk to inquire about the shuttle or taxi fare back to the airport. Figuring we could save $7-8 with the shuttle, I asked them to make reservations for Tuesday, Sept.7th, 2 p.m., since the airlines had requested that we arrive three hours early. The young woman told me that the shuttle would pick us up at 2:30 and probably get us there by 3 p.m., which was plenty of time for our flight. Both women behind the counter seemed to be confident with this information, so we agreed.
The shuttle did not arrive until 2:45 and then took us to the BUS STATION, where we had to depart and wait until 3:30 before boarding the bus for the airport. Please keep in mind that during my conversation with the young woman at the hotel, ""riding a bus"" never came into the conversation. If it would have, I would have immediately arranged for a taxi, because I had previously been told that taking the bus could take up to one and a half hours depending on the number of stops to the airport. I tried to calm my fears of missing our 5:30 p.m. flight, by asking the bus driver if we would be at the airport in time for our connection. He simply replied, ""I don't know."" So what would have otherwise been a perfect vacation, ended in frustration, anger and stress, which kept mounting as we reached the airport and saw the lines. We had no time to eat a relaxing lunch, as planned, nor stop in the Duty Free Shop. By the time I got on the plane, my stomach was in knots. We feel that entire nightmarish episode would have been avoided, had we had proper information from the two women at the front desk. Please instruct your employees accordingly.
