Convenient, Friendly And A Full Kitchen!

I chose this hotel because it offered kitchenettes in the rooms and was pet-friendly (I travel with my dachshunds). To my surprise, when I got there, the room was more like a studio apartment, with a full galley kitchen with cookware and dishes, dinette set, recliner before the bookcase/television, and a small terrace. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Being just a stone's throw from the tree-lined grounds McGill University (where I often walked the dachshunds) and the Place des Arts (the "Lincoln Center" of Montreal), downtown shopping district and, by coincidence, a lovely YMCA where I used my gym membership for only a $1 towel fee per visit, I couldn't have asked for a better location. Since I spent days out at tennis matches/baseball games, I was glad to have the option to have some meals in the room with my pups. Parking was available for a reasonable surcharge per day, something tourists need in Montreal since driving there is tedious in the daytime (as bad as NY) and parking is non-existent. Luckily, subway is close by, clean, safe and convenient (nearest stop at Place des Arts). I used it and the bus system frequently. The staff was friendly and welcoming, made friends with my pets and gave me helpful advice (like where to find a car wash). I rate Hotel L'Appartement an 8 out of 10 because I was hoping for a somewhat less expensive rate, but for a big city hotel, it was a fair bargain and I was very pleased with the extra amenities, charming staff and convenient location.
