Worst Hotel we have ever seen

We actually stayed at the Excel Hotel which is part of New Star and located on the same site. We were visiting Montreal with friends and thought that this would be a real treat. Staying in a themed room at a hotel in Montreal. We booked the Emerald Suite and the Presidential Suite and were absolutely disgusted by what we found. The Emerald suite had dirty carpets with burn holes in it. The mirror on the wall beside the jaccuzzi had a large crack in it. The tiles at the door were broken and were coming up and the window sill was rotting. The presidential suite wasn't much better. We had a view of the garbage bag filled swimming pool beside hwy 40 with no screen on the patio doors. We picked gum off the head board. Only 3 of 6 jaccuzzi jets worked. All of the lamp shades had burn holes in them and some were cracked and broken. The bedding was also stained and had holes in it. The dining table had been broken, the chairs were wobbly and the cusions on both sofas were ripped and the foam was coming out. We had friends meeting us at the hotel and when they stopped at the front desk to ask directions to the room they were yelled at by the clerk. The clerk called up to our room and told us that we were not allowed to have guests in our room and actually sent security up to our room to read us the hotels policy on people having guests in their room. We were also told that the room had wireless internet access which it didn't so we weren't able to use our laptop. This has to be the absolute worst hotel experience we have ever had. We were planning on staying in Montreal another night but decided to cut our trip short and go home a day early.

Prostitutes and junkies in the hallway

We rented many rooms here for a stay of several months. We have had all of the bad experiences one could expect from a fleabag hotel. Poor customer service, prostitutes and junkies fighting in the hall, sirens all night, and no hygiene. Should be reported to a governing body.
