A few things I look for in a hotel, it needs to be clean, quiet, comfortable, have good service and parking. Well Hotel des Alpes met all of my expections and more. I cannot really complain when I get free breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi for less than a hundred bucks (including taxes!). Yes, it may not be the most modern decor but I like the more personnal and warm vibe you get from the place. It feels like a second home. I hate driving in Montreal during the winter, it's such an adventure trying to find parking. Luckily, the subway station is just at the corner and I don't use my car till the day I Check-out. What a blessing! And to say some places will actually charge you $15 just to leave the car overnight... I couldn't have made a better choice.

Very small, run-down, overpriced

This hotel was a disappointment. Very cramped, tiny rooms with a '70s atmosphere. Breakfast was stale and scant, and the place is located in a very seedy neighborhood. Would NOT recommend.

What a nice surprise

It was my first trip to Montreal with my wife and kids. This hotel was recommended by friends so we gave it a try and were very pleased with the quality we got at the rate we paid. The room was nice, the all-you-can eat breakfast and parking were free and the staff was very helpful. We are definately going there on our next trip to this beautiful city.

Clean with modern, thoughtfully planned bathrooms. Nice staff always available. Great price for city accomodations. Drawbacks: Steep, dangerous stone stairs to 2nd floor and inconsistency with room sizes.
