Unbelievably dissapointing

This place did not offer a single thing to justify it's very high price.
They obviously count on the fact that people will always be attracted to Old Montreal and by their description of their Inn as a "charming converted horse stable" but do not be fooled.... there is nothing charming about the Auberge Bonsecours. We were not offered help with our bags even though we were three flights up a narrow staircase. When asked if the city parking lot next door (they have no Parking) had in & out privileges, the response was "I have no idea". Upon receiving our keys we were told to make sure to keep them because the doors get locked at night and after ten oclock, quote, "I am outta here!" Our room was a joke (it had a slanted roof that did not allow us to stand up straight. Any charm the place once had has been ruined by tacky furnishings cheap fixtures and low quality beds and linens ,...let alone the unbelievably rude staff. Breakfast was pathetic (on par with the continental buffet of a Hotel 8). Upon our departure we were not asked if we had a pleasant stay....something tells me they know better than to ask.

We spoke with the woman on the phone and gave a deposit
( thats what she demanded) for a room with TWO double beds. When we arrived, she made us paid in advance for the entire stay and then shocked us with the room NEXT TO THE EXIT DOOR. The room was a makeshift room with ONE double bed and a curtain that separated the bathroom from the bedroom.
We were up all night since it was so noisy with everyone in the house coming in and out all night. This is not what we RESERVED with the owner on the phone. We complained to the crazy owner and her response was "Oh, who cares, you will be out all day sightseeing anyway" . Folks, heed this warning!!!! She is a nutcase. The breakfast was a joke!!! She puts out cereal boxes that she buys from a warehouse. I believe there is some old GOAT cheese that the old GOAT puts out for breakfast as well.
Dont waste your money here. There are some other places that we stayed at in the area which were so much nicer than this GARBAGE CAN. Dont be fooled by the pictures.
