This hotel is mutton dressed as lamb, it is dated not in good repair and is not as clean as the photo's would like you to believe. However, we got a good rate and the bed was comfortable. You are a fair way's off from downtown, also did not like the parking set up. It had been snowing and the hill was so steep to the I nearly took out the garage doors. Continental breakfast (apple and coffee) cooked breakfast was good though.

I know it is a little dated, but the staff is great, and you have room to move around, and it is right on Church Street, what else can one ask for. It is not your average little hotel room. When I come up this fall, the first and only place to stay is, TOWN INN SUITES!!!!!!!!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Town Inn Suites Hotel

Excellent stay

from TheLarssons
We recently stayed at the Town Inn for 8 days and had a great visit.
As we have a 2 year old son, it was perfect to have access to a proper kitchen. We were also very pleased with the cleaning service, tidying and making beds every day. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, greeting us with a smile. Because we were so busy checking out the sites in Toronto we never got a chance to use the pool, gym or tennis courts, but they looked really good too. The Town Inn really is located in a great spot in Toronto, close to Yonge-Bloor, one of the main subway stations, also 10 mins walk to Bloor West for shopping and also 20 mins walk to the Royal Ontario Museum. We thought this was great value for money, and would recommend the Town Inn to anyone visiting Toronto.

Excellent Accomodation

from Rubyk85
Recently I moved a few hours north of Toronto but since I will be maintaining a business in Toronto I require accommodation for 3-4 nights per week in the city. As a result, a number of months ago, I began a search for a hotel that would meet the following criteria: located in central Toronto; reasonably priced; and staffed by friendly and competent people. I found everything I required in the Town Inn Suites.

It has now been over three months that I have been staying at the Town Inn on a weekly basis. Each day at the hotel begins with a smile by hotel employees and a warm buffet breakfast. When I return to the hotel in the evening, my room is neat and organized. The hotel is always impeccably clean. As a result, I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and its staff.

Rarely does one come in contact with individuals (or organizations) that are willing to go that extra mile. Needless to say, I will most highly recommend Town Inn Suites to anyone who is not only interested in staying at a hotel that boasts a great location and excellent value but also where hotel staff deliver services in a superior and thoughtful fashion.

Do not believe the website...

from Kimblypeg
I stayed here for a week while on the road with a theatrical tour. We knew in advance that some renovation would be going on, but were shocked when we arrived to find a full scale construction site, with scaffolding running up the entire side of the building and taking over the sidewalk. It was next to impossible to get into the very narrow entranceway, and once inside, only one of the three elevators were working consistently. During the stay in my dirty rundown room with broken furniture, I was awakened daily at 7am to the sounds of hammering and construction. The personnel at the front desk, while friendly enough, were unable to be helpful in any noticeable way, and most of our bills were incorrect upon checkout.

It is now October as I write this review, and I am staying at this same hotel again, after being promised before booking that renovations were complete. Imaging my anger upon arriving to find that although the scaffolding is gone, there is still a crane and workmen all over the place. The hammering continues, and although some rooms were supposedly renovated, all of the ones I have seen are the same threadbare rooms they were when I was here in May.

If the hotel were clean, or if the front desk were more helpful, or if the management at the hotel could be believed when they make assertions about the state of the hotel--if only one of these factors existed to alleviate the others, I would not have been moved to write such a harsh review. But after 2 such bad experiences within 4 months, I felt someone should speak up.
Management Response from Jehuda
In response to this most recent review I take an exception to the inaccuracies that have been written with regard to the construction and renovations taking place. In the first place the Construction at the Town Inn Suites has been completely finished. The remants of scaffolding that were in the front of the building was removed fully on October 26 2006 as the construction had been completed a week prior to that. The exterior of the building has been totally modernized and upgrade with brand new balconies with Glass railings.

One of the very worst hotels in Toronto

from dfili
I stayed in this hotel on September 6th to the 11th, unfortunately my stay was not very pleasant. At first I was content to have a room in a high floor (the 26th), the ONLY good thing of this room was the view but most of all this place has an old and untaken care of vibe. The carpet was absolutely dreadful because of the stains and burns on it. When I tried to turn on the light, all the lamps were extremely dusty. The regular housekeeper I've been seeing cleaning my room NEVER changed my bedsheets when I required them to be changed. She also did not vaccum the carpet regularly. The filthy room I stayed in was 2606 so I would strongly not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Geat place to stay

from hottiekw
I have stayed at the town inn many times. Everytime I stay the staff always step up to the plate with great customer service. The hotel always exceedes my expectations when I stay there alone or with friends. If there is a concern the staff always handle it in a friendly and timly manor. This hotel has become the hotel of choice when staying DT toronto either by myself , or with friends. If your entertaining this hotel is a great bargin.

Never got past the lobby

from scs_traveler
I have stayed at the Town Inn Suites many times over the past 15 years. It has always been a good place to stay for the value. I was excited to stay there over Caribana weekend as I was looking forward to seeing the updates to the rooms. I was traveling with a friend, so the idea of the extra space was very appealing. I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance and they even took a $180.00(US) deposit.

When we arrived, we were asked to come into the manager's office where we were told that due to some issues with visas, a large group of guests could not leave and therefore they did not have a room for us. They told me that they would refund my money within 2-3 days and they made a reservation at another hotel for $40 dollars less and complimentary breakfast. We were assured that it was "just as nice".

We put the luggage back in the car, drove to the "just as nice" hotel, paid $26 dollars for 2 nights of parking and were given a disgusting, room with two single beds that seemed to have box springs as mattresses. It was so small you had to shimmy around the furniture and there was something terribly wrong with the air conditioning.

I called the Town Inn back and told them that this was unacceptable. I finally requested that they check a specific hotel where they did get us a room, "for two people" at a rate of $199(CA)....ridiculous. Once we packed up again, got a refund on most of the parking, drove to the next hotel, parked at a rate of $23 per night, we were told that the room had one Queen bed!!!

Fortunately after 3 hours of driving around, this last hotel was kind enough to upgrade the room at no additional charge.

Town Inn=Horrifying for customer service.

Be better off on the street

from mwccliff
We booked two rooms for the ball game and they could only find one reservation. After an hour they found the room. We looked around to ensure the room was okay but we found dirty diapers in the trash. The front desk manager was great her name was Mila but the guy she worked with was a complete idiot. All he did was hit on the girls as they checked in or out. So me and the wife wake up head to the shower ,in our room, to find used soap with hair in the tub area. We informed Mila and she waved some of our fees. Bottom line I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. The hotel is rundown and there were no crews on hand to renavate the rooms. Basically all construction was shut down until further notice. Maybe the rooms on the lower floor were great but anything from the 8 floor and up was horrible.

Great Value, Great Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
The TOWN INN SUITES has to be the best bargain in over-priced Toronto. Being an apartment hotel, you get very spacious accommodation consisting of a living room, balcony, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The hotel is located in central downtown Toronto and close to some of the best shopping in North America, the atmosphere is low-key, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The exterior is currently under rennovation, and the suites are nearly completed as well. They have a great swimming pool and workout room, they serve a inexpensive breakfast buffet, and is hooked up for wireless internet. Many entertainers and flight crews use the hotel, and it always seems busy.

A great deal

from A TripAdvisor Member
I read the previous comments however I had some doubts. However after I requested their newly renovated executive floor I was presently surprised. The new suites had flat screen televisions both the bedroom and living room. The suites were very spacious clean and were affordable . One bonus was that the staff was very friendly and were helpful. I would definitely stay again and would recommend the Hotel

Disgusting!

from AdeChris
This hotel was completely different from the pictures on the hotel's website.

First of all, the building is under extensive construction, there are no signs identifying it and the exterior is covered in scaffolding so it is very difficult to find.

The lobby is nice and the desk attendants where very pleasant.

Our room (2104) was disgusting. The carpet was dirty and had lots of burned/melted patches on it. The wallpaper is water stained and peeling off in the livingroom, bedroom and bathroom. The wall in the closet of the bedroom was crumbling and the closet door would not close. The bedspread and blanket were covered in hair. The entire place smelled like mildew. The balcony was off-limits due to the construction and scaffolding. But, worst of all was the bathroom. The ceiling was peeling and crumbling apart. The shower/bathtub enclosure was covered in mold and the bathtub was SOFT!

We were booked in for two nights but checked after the first night. The front desk did ask if we wanted to change rooms but by then I was too disgusted to even stay in the hotel any longer. The most amazing part is that for one night stay and parking, with tax, the bill came to $200 CAD.
