Six Very Fine Days in Toronto
from a410travelerOverall a good value for the money but the taxes are steep.
Great weekend in Toronto
from A TripAdvisor MemberA weekend getaway in Toronto is great. There are so many attractions is such a small space. The last time we had a weekend getaway in Toronto we parked the car on Friday night and walked from our hotel to all of the attractions, including a play, a blue jay game and a great dinner at a fine restaurant.
Very Nice
from A TripAdvisor MemberFood in general in Toronto is outrageous. The hotel is no exception.
We did have a problem with our bathroom but they came and fixed it right away.
In general, a very nice up scale feeling hotel, great staff and awesome location. No need for a car if you stay here. Watch the taxes, they are on everything and high!.
I will add photos later when i get them back.

s Eve 04
from psodOverall the room was neat and tidy.
When we came back home at ~2am we were surprised to find most of the hotel guests standing around in the hallways. The electronic room locks had a problem, and nobody could get into their rooms. As expected, drunken antics ensued in the hallways and the place became rowdy pretty quickly.
The room doors didn't open until ~4am. The next day we complained about the inconvenience and they deducted $100 from our bill. Personally, I'd have rather paid full price and gotten a decent amount of sleep, but I guess $100 is better than nothing.
I would probably stay there again, as I'm sure the room locks malfunctioning was an isolated incident - but I'm not thrilled that they tried to unload a different room on us from the one we had reserved.
rennaisance at the skydome
from A TripAdvisor MemberNeat to stay at the stadium
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe were first given a field-view suite. It was neat to be so close to the field and players. Games were scheduled for both days we were there. The games really weren't our purpose, though, and we weren't going to be able to see them - so the possibilities of that suite were not as interesting as they might have been. Though clean, it was obviously a party room - slight odor and stains in the bathroom. Furniture was sparse with awkwardly open spaces - maybe to accomodate more people - and oddly arranged. It just didn't feel right. So, we switched to a city-view suite, which was just perfect!
All rooms (regardless of view) are built around the stadium, so we had an incredibly far (long and twisting) walk to both of the suites. It was a little strange, but do-able.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay there. I would choose a different hotel in the future, though, because I'm just not attracted to the novelty of staying at a baseball stadium (it sort of wore off of my husband, too). We paid for a regular room and were upgraded to a suite. I thought the regular rooms were reasonably priced, but I'd never pay for a suite there.
Top Local Tips for Toronto
Niagara Falls - Kings Tours I would recommend Kings Tours to take you to Niagara Falls for the day, we left at 9am and got back at 5pm. The driver/guide gave great commentary during the tour. It was only $80 each for the tour so well worth it as it includes a trip to a winery, trip up the tower at side of niagara falls during the winter. In better weather you get to go on Main of the Mist boat tour (all included in the $80) but this does not run in winter. I would not recommend going to the behind the falls tour in winter if they tell you one of the stages is closed as you cannot see anything but ice - really not worth it. The added option in this tour is a flight in a helicopter over niagara falls which Kings Tours get a discount so it is only $85 (despite on website saying $117 - you dont need to book in advance just do it with your driver on the day) each, approx £40, which is nothing for an experience of a lifetime. A definate trip worth taking whilst in Toronto
"Arriba" The Hotel Lounge This is a perfect and reasonably priced place to watch the ballgame from. The service is good and to my surprise there wasn't a sitting fee or an ordering minimum. I would imagine they would want you to order something, however, when one considers the price of a ticket to a ballgame, added to a beverage and snack, you really can't go wrong at Arriba.
pangaea for fine dining We were late for our reservations at pangaea, but the host couldn't have been more gracious. Having driven for hours to get there, he seated us in the window and brought us coffee. It was hot and delicious and just what we needed for what followed. The next hour was spent enjoying the view of pedestrians passing this Yorkville establishment and relishing some of the best food I've ever tasted. What a treat!
