I liked the convenience of shuttles from the airport. The conference I attended was very well organized, food was excellent and the bed was comfy!!!!

I notified the hotel well in advance that there would be 2 teenage girls and one adult arriving. I requested 2 beds or access to a cot. I received no response prior to arriving for check-in and so thought that this arrangement was fine. At check-in I was told that the room had only one bed and there were no cots available. On questioning this, I was told I could take it or leave it. I ended up sleeping on the floor. I won't be back.

Top Local Tips for Toronto

Take Public Transit to Downtown! Take the hotel airport shuttle back to the airport, ask the driver to drop you off at arrivals post C23 at Terminal 3, walk 20 meters to the public transport stop as The Toronto Transit (TTC) runs a non-stop airport express every 12 minutes. It costs $2.75 per adult and it will take you to the subway (Kipling Station) where you get on the train heading east to Yonge/Bloor in Downtown Toronto. The subway ride is about 30min and does not cost extra. The fare of $2.75 is all you pay! Just follow the same directions but reverse to get back to the hotel. The hotel airport shuttle runs every 30min. This is the cheapest and quickest option plus the ride is very nice as most of it takes place outdoors :)

Getting from the airport downtown Your options are threefold: 1) taxi/limousine (probably $40 or so, good if you're knackered); 2) Airport Express bus to downtown hotels and Union Station (just under $20); or 3) TTC bus from the airport to Kipling Station (about 10-15 minutes) then subway right downtown (20-30 minutes depending on time of day). This option is dirt cheap: $2.75. Unless I was completely exhausted I'd take option 3 over the other two.
